Two days after my first-ever instrumental (noodley-jammy-thing), even though my fingers hadn't fully healed, I couldn't wait to try something else.
A differnt style, a cleaner sound.

So noodley-jammy-thing #2

Style is _BOSSAN.STY (Bossa w/ Nylon-Electric Guitar &)

RealTracks in style: ~464:Bass, Acoustic, Bossa Ev 140
RealTracks in style: ~470:Piano, Acoustic, Rhythm Bossa Ev 140
RealTracks in style: 708:Guitar, Nylon-Elec, Rhythm Bossa Ev 140
RealTracks in song: ~1664:Guitar, Electric, SoloAccompaniment Bossa Ev 140
RealDrums in style:BossaBrushes: a: Sidestick Brushes b: Sidestick, Ride

I played guitar - Fender Strat, Amplitube 5 preset.

Simple, easy-listening stuff.

DRIFTING INTO PORT

Say something.

Floyd,

This completely works. You've got a great groove going, your tone is excellent and the mix sounds "live".

I am really enjoying these instrumentals. You have the touch!

Floyd - Your noodling sounds better than most others polished finished songs. This is a nice Bossa groove.

Floyd,

I think Elliott summed it up pretty dang good with his comment.

Easy listening and easy to listen to.

Keep at it - you have the innate skill to become very good with your lead guitar efforts. And yep, the fingertips pay the price for a while, but the payoff down the road, in satisfaction if nothing else, is a sweet prize! keep at it.

Floyd, very smooth and fun. Cool slithery groove and nice development. FWIW, those bongos sound especially nice. You're well on your way!

I must admit that I'm not a fan of instrumentals but as instrumentals go this sounds good.
Really live sounding mix. I feel I'm in the same room as them.

Some of the percussive accents from the drums etc. get in the way but, unless they're "stems" that's really hard to address, don't bury the fine playing.
I enjoyed this one too.

Hi, floyd jane.

Yep, that's different, all right.

The guitar fits - nothing flashy, just doing what's called for by the song.

You're proving to be a man of many genres! smile

Nice island sounding tune.

One thing to be aware of. The guitar and piano are competing for the same sonic space. Use EQ and levels to give them their own space and it will be easier to hear the guitar. I'd probably have used levels to bring the guitar a bit more to the front since it's the main thing you want us to hear. Dropping the piano out totally in places would make it really shine and be clean at the same time. But... hey I know you already know that.

Edit: I really need to do some noodling too. It's been way too long. Just playing for pure enjoyment. Thanks for reminding me about that.

Stylistically _absolutely_ not my thing, but as I wrote in my response to your first instrumental, you don't show off, you do what the song needs and no more.

Really nice instrumental. I began imagining the sea due to the title, but as the tune got going I was imagining happy yachting under the stars.

Wow, Floyd, you show talent wherever you look. My first gig in'65 was as a lead guitarist. Someone realized I just played bass patterns for my solos, and sold me my first bass. You've been playing like what... a month or two, and you're already playing Bossa. And not just ike some wannabee, but with authority. Nothing extrememtly difficult perhaps, but everything so well placed with a good feeling.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Hi Floyd,
Beautiful spacing of instruments. Bass well present, beautiful rhythm. For an instrumental it is rather a great success. As the piece goes on we get more and more hooked. It is a good sign. Bravo !

Floyd,

Another cool instrumental . . . really smooth sounding lead . . . and of course the overall production is as crisp and clear as it should be. Nicely done. Totally captures the title of the song!
