The amp chassis has been setting on my desk for over a year. I played it for about three minuits after I built it. The amp sounds good but I want to add a bet of better bass response. One channel needs work and the pilot light is not working. No big deal to fix. Well, I am not sure how to change up the tone control. It is more or less a Supro circuit and I don't think I ever drew a schematic.

Lots of music stuff has been setting on hold. I looked at my Native Insturments account and found a software program I paid $599.00 for that I did not remember buying...lol

The guitar skills are returning slower than the piano skills.

Two things...don't get old and don't stop playing!!!

Cheers,

Billy

EDIT: Thhe schematic is here on the forum at https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=771479&Searchpage=1&Main=101965&Words=supro&Search=true#Post771479

Any of you electronic guys could look at the schematic and recommend changes to produce more bass.

That's a clean looking amp.

I've got a box of parts including the power and output transformers for a 50w project guitar amplifier. Maybe one day I will get motivated.

Swap out that .005uf in the tone circuit. That would change the tone response. I'm not sure if larger or smaller would have the desired effect but try each and go from there.

That's a nice looking cabinet you dropped your chassis into. Love the look of uncovered wood...

Back at the boat f or a few days
Yes, Herb, the cap change should do the job
I had some leftover white leather which I think looks good with the Oak wood with just some oil
The amp will likely never leave the house
Hopefully I will catch a few Wahoo

What goes on inside Billy's mind, while he thinks seriously about changing that tone capacitor grin :

I caught one of those once, up the west coast of Mexico, about 1 hour north of Puerto Vallarta. It took me 30 minutes, and my hands were bleeding, but dayam, was it fun.

I can't help the aging process, but so far I haven't stopped playing. No retirement plans for me as long as someone will hire me, and my calendar is still full.

Sorry, I don't remember enough about the electronics I learned in school to help with the bass response.

BTW, the woodwork looks really nice.

That one will change treble response, not so much bass response. I'd increase the .005 coupling caps before the volume controls, currently they're creating a high pass and increasing the cap will lower the frequency.

There's actually quite a strong high-pass character in the amp. It looks like around -10dB at 100Hz. As Simon moots, maybe increase the .005uF coupling caps in the first stages to perhaps 0.1uF and the two 0.1uF coupling caps to the output pair to 0.022uF. That should bring the 100Hz figure to nearer -3dB.

Doubling those all again (0.022uF and 0.047uF) would bring the 100Hz up to about -1dB, but that may be too far ... -3dB at 100Hz is probably good.

One around 40 lbs and one around 50 lbs. The 50 lbs Wahoo broke my 50 pound scale...lol
The ocean had been really rough the day before but calm down for a bit Friday morning. Winter time fishing.
This was about 130 miles offshore from Key West Florida.
We caught a bunch of other types of fish.
[Linked Image from i.imgur.com] A few of the yellow eye snapper.
They were easer to pick up when I was younger...lol

Thanks for the cap ideas.

Cheers,

Billy
