Hi All,

Here’s something a bit folk & pop… This is called COMET.

The wind blew all around me
It was autumn in the park
The leaves fell like stars
And surely left their mark
You run through my mind like a comet in the dark

Turn off the radio
Before that next song starts
They’re talking about the moon
Like a cosmic love backdrop
You run though my mind like a comet in the dark

I thought we had a season
Maybe one or two
But I feel like a witness now
To a life I never knew
You come out of the blue like a comet passing through

You said we burned too bright
It was a cliche from the top
Like Christmas in July
We’re just too far apart
You run through my mind like a comet in the dark

Love can be a galaxy
Lost souls and astronauts
The zodiac lights up
It flickers and it sparks
You run through my mind like a comet in the dark
Yeah you run through my mind like a comet in the dark

Love can be a galaxy
Lost souls and astronauts

Love, really love what ya'll are doing. Beautiful song, passionately sung. Those acoustic instruments sound nice, and the organ is a nice pad to tie it together. Joliz adds a cool, ethereal edge with her harmonies and BGVs. Another stunning tune!

Bob,
No one tells a story like you do. You dang near write a novel in less than a hundred words. And Joliz adds the perfect touch to the songs.

I really liked the deeper-than-usual reverb on the acoustic guitar. You know how to push all the right musical buttons.

Merry Christmas to both of you.

Bob.
Lyrics are great as usual.
Maybe a little too much verb which is swirling around and covering up the vocals to my ears.
Still a great write.

You never miss, Bob..
The catalogue that you have dropped into the Showcase over the years is astounding. About 20 albums worth I think...
Every one a good as the next.

Joliz is a good addition.

Alan,

Thank you so much. Joliz and I appreciate the kind words.

Very glad that you liked that guitar reverb. I was shooting for a very specific sound, so it's great to hear that it worked.

Merry Christmas to you and Di.

Another cool one.
Occasionally the BV seem not quite right...might be the level or the reverb.
Cool band too.

Cheers

Wonderful. Top lyrics, top musical writing. Joliz's voice is ever so haunting, here. You yourself, Bob, are top notch in every single way, nailing those vocals with that "smoke-filled" voice of yours. The final stanza of the lyrics (starting with "Love can be a galaxy ...") is particularly poetic, to my ears. But the whole lyrical content is incredible, I think ... and the metaphor of the comet is, of course, inspired. Congratulations to the both of you.

It's another great song lyrically and the vocals and backing vocals give it that spaced out vibe, but for some reason I didn't think the backing track suited it. I just feel as if it should have been smoother and more sort of 'cosmic' sounding. It's just my opinion - and re opinions my view is that I believe that I hypothesise that I have a theory that I calculate that I allow as how I reckon they don't never make no nevermind, or at least I imagine - but I don't think the fingerstyle guitar suited the vibe.

#13: Ask not for whom the flower blooms, it blooms for you.
#58: Bring consciousness to it.
#63: On the road to effortlessness, effort must be made.
#92: Be Love Now, the rest will come on its own.

Bob and Joliz, this is great.
Bob's vocal and Joliz's backing vocal are spot on.
A really good backing band.
Super mix.
This is one of your best IMHO.

Hi, Bob.

Like the Ghost of Christmas Past, you paint a slice of life mixed with vivid imagery.

Powerful stuff, done with an amazing economy.

Impressive, always.
