This has BIAB:
drums,
lead guitar, (many edits & multiriffing steps)
and organ.
I did the guitars & bass with my usual rig.
HIGH violin notes from MIDI & a Mellotron VSTi.
Terry Berman does lead & one harmony vocal while I do the other BVox.
It may not be eggactly what you wanted in this season of cheer but the yolks always on me.
LYRICS for Tune Monger:
VERSE
What are you going to do?
You can't see
that far
That star
This scar
You are
Tied as one to this cue
Tied till death's abacus
Counts just one lapse and
Grinds us

CHORUS
Tip toe
Tip toe slowly
To avoid the egg shells
You know
You know wholly
What the remnant foretells
Each shell that you crush
You cannot hush

VERSE2
What are we going to say?
We can't flee
That climb
That time
This crime
Our prime
Tied to what we will be
Tied till life's tally sheet
Records our lapses &
Deletes

CHORUS 2
Tip toe
Tip toe blindly
Can't avoid ego shells
You know
You know truly
What our history foretells
No matter your blush
We must not hush

VERSE3
What are we going to keep?
We can't see
Before
No more
Restore
Therefore
We will never be free
Chained by relationships
Reloading synapses
Eclipse

CHORUS3
Tip toe
Tip toe slowly
To avoid the egg shells
You know
You know wholly
What the remnant foretells
Each shell that you crush
You cannot hush
CHORUS 4
Tip toe
Tip toe blindly
Can't avoid ego shells
You know
You know truly
What our history foretells
No matter your blush
We must not hush

Thanks,
it seems the large & regular video options had glitched somehow.
Fixed now, thanks.

Ray, well, I don't know if it's a Christmas holiday tune, but maybe Easter, what with all the eggshells.

Ha!

Cool song. Like the harmonic movement, and both the played and BiaB instruments sculpt a nice backdrop. Great job on the BiaB lead guitar. I would have bet that was a human. Vocals are super as well.

Hope you have a great Christmas. Or Easter...

Ray,

You never fail to entertain with your music. Love that descending bassline in places. And terry always treats your music very nicely.

Good mix on more than a few tracks. As always, great work.

Merry Christmas,

Alan

A full wall of sound without being overpowering. I like your use of the stereo space especially the vocal drop ins. Speaking of the vocal bits, at the end after the instruments stops, you have those couple of whispers, which caused me to think that someone was behind me trying to get my attention. Vocal sit well in the mix. I'm glad you didn't bury it. laugh

So glad I get notification as soon as you post on YT, Ray. Right now I'm on my 3rd listen. You have a cool knack for creating engaging music. Excellent job curating the perfect band, and then you add your own perfect touch. Terry has the perfect voice for this, too. Is that him in the vid? Yeah, your videos also have that Ray Cochran uniquiness. Love it, Ray. Have a great Christmas, my friend.

Enjoy whatever happens!

The BIAB lead was worth the effort. I'd recorded the descending bass line and when I found a partial match in BIAB lead I worked on it over an half hour at a time over a month to get the end result...that inlcuded cutting & pasting within the DAW but that's what DAWs are for.
Thank you for your kind words.
Merry whatever it is.

Thanks Alan,
Terry & I go way back - we worked together in the very early 80s & wrote together in the mid to late of that decade. It's good to reunited.

I was leaning toward making this a psych tune - hence the vocal panning - but decided on going a little straighter.
I rarely bury other people's voices.
THANKS!

Thanks Marty,
Yes, Terry is the focus of the video. I was going to put in some "band" footage but he was engaging enough to hold it together.

Sounds good, Ray. I like the solo. My old ears need a lyric sheet. Great job.

Sounds 'old' with a kind of Bowie vibe, which is good.
Terry and you are a pretty good band, you should collab more often.
You can just tell he's a frontman who knows how to carry a show.
And unlike your own vocals, you don't have him buried somewhere deep in the mix.
Good choice.
Enjoyed my listen!

PS: My ears aren't as old as TuneMonger's grin, but I'm glad to have the lyrics too!

I often lack world experiences necessary to fully understand your lyric.
I always enjoy trying to follow along.

That cool identifiable Pygmy Beat sound.
All glued together well.
Especially enjoyed the bass. Great sound.
Cool (original!) solo.

Your videos get more interesting all the time.

Ray,

This is a slick sounding track! You must have spent an incredible amount of time applying those cool effects on those tracks! Video is also very cool, great job on that! I would also like to mention the outstanding job you did on your parts, especially the bass! It sounds so good! A really pro sounding track!

Thanks, TB
