I have a Nektar Impact LX49+ controller that is mapped to Studio One and works without issue on Studio One plugins.
I would like to control the IK Multi Media Hammond B-3x software. All this MIDI stuff is a little over my head. I had in mind to find someone on SoundBetter or Freelancer or someone here who could help. On Team Viewer, Zoom, phone, smoke signals...lol
Got any ideas?
Thanks,
Billy
“Amazing! I’ll be working with Jaco Pastorius, Charlie Parker, Art Tatum, and Buddy Rich, and you’re telling me it’s not that great of a gig? “Well…” Saint Peter, hesitated, “God’s got this girlfriend who thinks she can sing…”
I am not sure. I now have some things up on the screen in studio one with B-3x showing the slider channels I am trying to connect to the organ draw bars but... Here is a photo

I sort of got it figured out. I was able to assign a slider to a drawbar, but not the drawbar I wanted...MIDI madness...lol

I figured it out I think. If I can remember what I did twice...lol

Can't you just load the B-3x as one of S1s plugins? That's how it would work in RB ..
Yes you can that is how I have the IK B-3 installed. It is just a virtual instrument like any other one. This instrument can be used with 2 keyboards to control the upper manual and the lower manual. Groove 3 has a video course about this plugin. It's on sale for $12.50 right now half price.

Hey thanks, Brain I am having trouble figuring out how to assign my Nektar controller functions in B-3x. Nektar is mapped to Studio One, and all the Studio One synths work automatically.
Part of the issue is that for the last few days, I have been updating everything on my computer, and I am a bit tired. Many hours of reloading all the Native Instruments to a new drive. Also, I had to solve internet issues with Comcast.
I got the first slider mapped to the first drawbar but can not seem to repeat the process.
I hooked up three keyboards and can control both manuals and the foot peddles. I don't have a MIDI expression peddle yet. Three keyboards are too hard to operate, and as I was never able to kick the foot peddles on a real B3, so there was no big loss with that issue.
There is a company, OBEDIA, that does Studio One training that I want to try tomorrow. A bit pricy at $120 per hour and some longer-term plans at 69 cents a minute. They should be able to show me how to connect everything in thirty minutes and answer a few other questions. Has anyone here used them?
I have wanted a genuine B3 for a long time but they cost a lot of money. I do now have the space to own one, but it's pretty serious bucks.
Also, the IK software really sounds good, better than I thought it would.
Of course, nothing I can build with the software will physically play like a real B3, but it has been a long time since I played a real B3, and all the muscle memory is probably gone in any event.
All of these current endeavors related to music are being driven by health issues. Too old to fly airplanes safely. I still run my boat in the ocean but even that is getting more difficult.
At some point, staying home and playing music will perhaps be all I have left to do that I can get excited about.
Getting old is OK and sort of cool but the pain that comes along with age is a real PITB!...lol
Cheers,
Billy .

Billy them drawbars have controller numbers assigned to them I have included a picture of each of their values. You can automate them drawbars if you like. You can also split your keyboard to control the lower manual and the upper manual rather than several keyboards if that makes it easier. In the other picture next to the Leslie speed control are drawbar presets that are already programmed and have great sound. In another life when I was much younger I worked at a electronic repair shop in Las Vegas and we were an authorized organ repair center. I got my first taste of working on the B3 there. I am not a tube guy as I started in electronics when it was solid state devices. The tone generator in them is quite a neat invention by the way. I am a guitar player and do not know how to play piano or keys. I do own several B3 VI's including EZ Keys Organ which I do like as well.
