bbw64.exe not releasing memory [Resolved] #835795 12/25/24 06:07 PM Band-in-a-Box for Windows

OP Tom Laskey Enthusiast T Joined: Dec 2018 Posts: 19	Someone verify this for me. I ran and exited 6 instances of BB 2025 v1024. I checked task manager and there are 6 instances of bbw64.exe listed as background tasks consuming each 803 to 1164 MB of memory. Shouldn't they release the memory? They don't consume CPU cycles but that's 4-5 gigs of memory tied up (I have 32 gig total). Tom Laskey

musocity Veteran M Joined: Jun 2009 Posts: 3,110	Biab plays the tracks in RAM, if you don't want to use all that RAM use the Plugin Standalone set on WAV Instructions only. I haven't tried multiple instances of it but it will play the tracks direct from disk, it will load and play a frozen song quicker than Biab.

musocity Veteran M Joined: Jun 2009 Posts: 3,110	It's the Standalone Plugin version C:\bb\BBPlugin\Files\Band-in-a-Box DAW Plugin Standalone.exe It will run multiple instances but you need to close bbw4_64.exe running in the background before using functions in another instance. Hopefully they should fix this soon. Memory used with song loaded and playing:
