I have installed it several times from the install manager and manually and the files arent there in the default c:\bb directory
I have Windows 11 Home
I have never had any problem with updates or installs since 2020.
Any ideas what is wrong?

Hi Ted.
When you say that the "files aren't there", what happens that leads you to conclude that the files have not been installed? Also, what package of BIAB did you purchase to download and install?

Ted,
Does your BIAB shows 2024 or 2025 on big logo when it starts?
I believe if you used a standard method of installing from Download Manager, downloaded files should be in C:/BBDownloads
Do you have that folder? Is it empty?

Ted I guess you've already checked if you have a different 'home' location for BiaB. I put mine in F:/bb so my C:/bb directory is empty.
Jazz relative beginner, starting at a much older age than was helpful.

i'll probably get some flac (!!) from some pg users but i just dont understand why some do complex installs to various drives.
ive found in the past this can lead to probs.
ive found the least hassle for me is just (after backing up the pg shipped drive) hang the pg drive off very fast usb.
(yes i know some people say they might get a usb issue or other but ive never had one.)
bb/rb boot up in just a couple of secs.
happiness.

ive found the least hassle for me is just (after backing up the pg shipped drive) hang the pg drive off very fast usb. That is essentially what I do except that I copy to F:/bb, which is an internal drive, not USB. Back in the days when Windows drives were limited to 4GB, one often had little choice but to use multiple drives and partitions. These days there are fewer reasons. Personally I put BB, NI, samples and so on, onto a seperate drive, partly so I don't have to reinstall 3TB if I reinstall Windows and partly so I can use it from Linux without having the clutter of Windows itself in the same place.

i'll probably get some flac (!!) from some pg users but i just dont understand why some do complex installs to various drives. Not flac(k), just my experience. I've been installing BIAB into custom folders across multiple drives since we've been able to do so. I've never had a problem. That being said, I don't use the automatic installer, but always download the individual installation files and install them myself. My configuration is: - c:\Apps\PGMusic\BIAB2025 (and for RealBand c:\Apps\PGMusic\RB2025) - for the main program and associated files
- c:\Apps\VST\64-bit\PGMusic - for the BIAB VST2 plugin
- z:\Sounds\PGMusic\RealSounds\RealTracks and z:\Sounds\PGMusic\RealSounds\Drums (for RealTracks and RealDrums) - z: is here I have all my sound libraries from various programs.
