This is the first instruction on modes that ever made the use of modes understandable to me.
If you don't have that information committed to memory, it is best to print out a music mode chart before watching.

Most of us have listened to people like Carlos Santana play in the Dorian mode and have some idea of what that mode sounds like. However, being able to play in all seven modes opens up a new world.
