The Impossible Mission

Just a little something I threw together a few months ago when I had almost an entire evening free. Just messing around and this happened. It won't suit everyone's taste, but I kinda like it.

IT'S A BIT LOUD!

Thank for your listen and any comments you'd care to leave.

Alan

Alan,

Love the Latin feel of this track! It's inspiring to me! Reminds me of one I put together to use in church years ago for the song "I Will Celebrate". In fact, I may just do that this week because of your post!
You may have just "threw" it together, but it sounds great to me! Wish I could just "throw" them together like that!

Thanks, TB

Alan,

Yeah, this sounds great! I can just hear this in any number of TV shows, etc. You are a master at this.

Loved it!

Alan, great job as always. Enjoyed the exploration of your theme, and it's all nicely arranged and mixed. I may have to get my hearing checked (again), as the song is labeled "piano-based" but I strained to hear a piano. The bass and mandolin sound great though, and the synths peaking through were a cool effect. Nice work...an evening well spent! Now where's the number for my ENT...

Alan,

Nice drive to this.
Interesting mix of instruments (a lot).
As Ron mentioned, the piano is low. That mandolin is the star.

Nice.

Plenty of rhythm in this, Alan.
One of those tunes for dancing while your doing the washing up.

Wow! This had so much stuff in it!! I never heard of things like:
-SynthmasterConfusedSyncPercussive
-EuroDance WhinyPan
-TechnoRadio^01-CycleSubstyles

Maybe I’d have to invest in the UltraPak to find them, or maybe just probe some corners of BIAB beyond where I normally hangout!

Wild ride! Sure woke me up during my early-morning listening session!!

Hi, Alan. I know you weren't talking to me when you said it may not be everyone's taste. I've grown quite biased over the years here. My ears have special taste beds for whatever you create. Cool changes (as always) , and another terrific arrangement. Good driving beat, and an interesting array of the perfect musicians.

Enjoy whatever happens!

That number of tracks would make our heads spin trying to mix them!
It would be an impossible mission for us. smile
But you did a great job with them.
An excellent gathering the of the BiaB Wrecking Crew.
And assuredly suitable for a sound track.

Well done!

Alan,

I think it was time well spent for one free evening, my friend! As you probably know, I am typically more impressed by great lyrics than production...having said that, this was a very pleasant listen for me. The rhythm mandolin (not sure if it was part of the style you chose or not) was key to this production for me. Great job!

It's pretty cool Alan.
The swirling part makes sense in an instrumental but would be out of place in a vocal accompaniment.
Jaunty but could carry a very sad story.

Cheers

Hi Torrey,

Apologies for the short review—there are lots of things going on. Thank you very much for the kind words. It's always great to hear a song I wrote inspires someone else to do something. That put a smile on my face.

Here's hoping your 2025 is full of rewards - professional & personal.

Alan

Hi Bob,

Replies are brief for a while - the medical issues are compounding for Di. Thanks for your kindness to my music. I'm not sure I'm a master of anything, but knowing the feel that way about my music is pretty special!

Wow, that's a lot of tracks! But you kept a good lid on it and it never got away from you. I liked the chord progression. Way to go, Alan!

Hi, Ron,

I think the piano track's place in the mix might be related to the specific headphones, as it comes through pretty clearly through mine. Many thanks for the kind words! Best to you,

Alan

High spirited piece and very cinematic, so it would adapt well into a soundtrack.

Thanks to everyone who has left such nice comments. I wish I could leave a personal reply to each of you as I usually do, but Di's health issues have kept me busy and exhausted. But I gotta take care of her before I do anything else.

Again, many thanks. DI says hello to everyone and, like I, wishes everyone a great 2025.

Take care and stay well,

Alan
