When I load a song with all realtracks and hit the generate button, I get no sound. If the song has midi tracks, those will play correctly. I have to open the multipicker/songs window, find the song, and load it again. Then when I generate the song, it plays correctly. I have BIAB set up to load the previous song session when I start the program. I had this problem in BIAB 2024 also.
Band in a Box 2025 build 1125, Studio One 7.1.1, AMD 3900X, 32gb ram, Windows 10 Pro 22H2 64 bit, Behringer U-Phoria UMC1820, Yamaha CP33, TriplePlay midi controller
I found a work-around. After starting BIAB, instead of hitting the generate button, I open the Multi-picker window and not select anything. Then I hit the "generate" button and the song plays correctly with RealTracks. Why this works, I have no idea, but it is easy. Maybe my preferences are different from most people because I have BIAB open with the previous song loaded.

I have had exactly that same problem ( and solution) for quite some time. It only seems to be realtracks and not midi. I don't have to do anything other than open the multipicker window and close it. I have gotten some response from PG's support team, which was basically do a factory reset, delete the .ini file etc. but none of those seemed to have cured the problem. My last reply to them got no response on any further fix for that. I'm using version 2024.
I presume that the program 'thinks' that a generation is not necessary when it actually is. Are the tracks frozen on the songs that exhibit this issue? (I haven't personally encountered this)
BIAB & RB2026 Win.(Audiophile), Windows 10 Pro & Windows 11, Cakewalk Bandlab, Izotope Prod.Bundle, Roland RD-1000, Synthogy Ivory, Session Keys Grand S & Electric R, Kontakt, Focusrite 18i20, KetronSD2, NS40M, Pioneer Active Monitors.
I've had a similar problem for years. When I press play or generate nothing happens. Then when I press it a second time it works. So I just always press twice. BIAB wart!
Does the song actually 'start', i.e. cursor on the chords moves and updates, but no sound is delivered, or just nothing actually happens?

To answer some questions: For me it is repeatable for any song with realtracks, and they are not frozen from a song previously saved. When I press "generate + play", the cursor will move with the song playing no sound. Or if midi tracks are present, it will play those only. This is different then the standard "hit the generate button twice" to get the song playing. I could hit the generate button many times and get no change in this behavior. Only when I open the multipicker dialog and hit generate, do I get all the tracks playing correctly.

No, I have BIAB setup in preferences to launch with the previous song. You do not have that in your preferences, it looks like. Although I have done the "set to default settings" routine and that did not help.

I just changed it so BIAB opens with no song, then selected a song from the menu/open command. Then I pressed generate, and still no difference. This is no big deal for me. I can live with opening the multipicker, then hitting generate to get my song playing.

Well, it seems that my version is not affected, If we followed same steps. I guess somebody could volunteer to test 2024 version to see if its a bug, or something isolated
I've had that happen on occasion. Retyping one chord usually fixes it and causes regeneration without changing instrument versions, as "regenerate" button does.
I resolved this problem by following the advice in this post:
This allowed me to lower the latency when running BIAB and Studio One with a vsti in ASIO at 64 ms. Before, I could only run the 2 programs at 128 ms without drop-outs in the audio. This is a huge upgrade for my system as I mainly use BIAB for live practicing with my guitar and piano programs.

1..perhaps you could post to it in pgtips forum ? 2..perhaps for those people...and there are many that just dont want to drill down into tech internals...you might suggest they should use a qualified pc tech ? i would like a buck for every time a muso has said to me... 'i wanna make music and not deal with all this tech stuff'... and other comments and expletives i wont repeat on these forums....lol. 3..just fyi...and ive always done this...includeing my most recent pc purchase (ry 7//m.2 etc)...i ensure a couple things... ..the core latency of the pc internally is very low. (notebookcheck.com does tests on lots of laps and mini pc's.) ..i test with my apps. i always get a 30 day return so i can do detailed testing. in summary i like to be pre-emptive before i move into serious music production. the problem ive seen many times is many people just use any old pc...includeing hand me downs and thus run into probs. (sorta like buying a car before testing it out.) in summary one can save oneself grief by testing within the 30 day product return window.
fyi...my new pc boots from cold into win and loads up bb and rb and reaper apps in a few secs. also bb track genning is nearly blink of an eye. reaps says my asio latency is 4ms. so im happy.
ps i only use low resource plugins. the problem being ive seen is some people try to run a ton of tracks and high resource needing plugins on a underpowered pc.
happiness.
