What an unbelievable arrangement and production. You have a knack for unearthing some real treasures.
NO ONE bends a note like Janice... This vocal is off the charts. It just completely wraps around the lyrics and melody with her unmistakable tone.
Love what Peter has done here as well. His guitar lines are always supportive, musical and never get in the way. And here they completely underpin the arrangement.
Bud, your production is always a highpoint for me. You make outstanding choices that never miss the mark.

Man, you guys crush it every time! Spooky but fun as heck. Unique source material, killer vocals, sinewy guitar and snappy production. LOVE the swooping harmonies on the ooh/aah accents. Fastest 5:00 song of all time. Super tune. 2025 is looking really good on ya'll... Thanks for the very positive and supportive review. “Spooky but fun” is exactly what we hoped for! I enjoyed doing this song, it has a very interesting chord structure and "spooky" melody.
As usual Janice sing the heck out of it and makes my part easy feeding off her performance.

Janice made this her own. No one could top that.
Peter does his best-work-ever. There is almost as much emotion and feeling in that guitar as in that woman's voice. A near impossible task.
A mix so good...you do not notice it.
It does not get better than this.

This grabbed me from the first note. Dark blues, which Janice sings out of the city, state and country, never mind out of the park. Peter's guitar playing is perfect for the song ... dark and so broody, it's as if he speaks to you. The production is of the high, professional standard that Bud ALWAYS brings out of the hat, with no exception. Love the sound effects, too Janice, though, has to take center-stage, here ... almost raspy, but not harsh at all, singing in this one, at times .. and, at other times, beautifully plaintive. The harmonies are beautiful, too. Congratulations to all of you for making this song sound this good.

Stunning production. Sounds like you went to a Nashville studio. There is so much to like about this, but standout is the vocal, guitar, and arrangement. A thoroughly enjoyable track. It's amazing how you transformed that old piece of sheet music into this.

Interesting backstory and a very nice resurrection of an old song. Dark blues works very well and who could be a better interpreter of it than Janice Those bends on are amazingly emotional especially on "Chloe", harmonies are also great. Peter's solo work is excellent, really moody with the right effects and the modern sound. The mix is pleasantly airy. Janne

Listening to this gem of a song is like stumbling across a quiet backstreet blues bar for the first time and being mesmerized by a band you've never seen or heard of, playing a great sounding song that you're hearing for the very first time. Yes, that has actually happened to me on a few occasions over the years in various towns and cities all over the world.
I love this style of blues and Janice's vocal is so captivating. Peter's guitar work sounds great too.

Great job resurrecting this old tune! The vocal style and feel is right in Janice's wheelhouse! Everything sounds excellent! Guitar sounds good and especially the piano! It was made for this track!

Oh, yeah, a very different Blues theme, especially for the 20s and 30s recording sessions. ANd, man, you guys (as always) make it so much better --and not just cuz of the technological changes over 100 years, but with the magic that you 3 always put into these classics.
