It was called something like offbeat modern funk.

I got to it by searching under the song "My Old School" by Steely Dan and it came up in the list.

I know I should have saved it but I didn't.

Now I can't find it. From searching that song again. Or from searching keyword "funk" or "modern" or any combination. Or browsing through the genre catagories. Maybe I'm using the style search function wrong because it seems really screwed up. You search under a keyword and get a lot of options that don't seem connected to that keyword. I can't even get much to come up using "funk" as a keyword and that can't be write. There's no "open recent files" option either which is frustrating.

Thanks in advance.

To elaborate just slightly, <Shift><F3> opens the "Recently Played Songs" list.

These are some of the styles that are suggested for 'My Old School' (Steely Dan). There are a couple of styles in the list using the words: "Modern Funk"

I believe the BIAB defaults to automatically adding recently loaded styles in the Recently Opened Styles window. The window lists up to 150 recent styles.

From the Chord Sheet the Recently Opened styles window is found by rt clicking on the Style Icon. You may find the style there.

Thanks! Outfit Modern Funk looks like it.

And this list looks like what I originally got in my search on that song but I'm not getting it now. So, I must be doing something wrong.

Also, what I don't understand is why this style isn't showing up when I search for "modern funk" in the filter string, all categories in the style picker window. I have to be doing something wrong but I can't figure it out.

This is really useful software but the interface isn't meshing with my brain very well.

Searching for the string Modern Funk gives me almost 700 results that do not contain the unique string 'modern funk', but the way it works is that it is searching for separate instances of the words 'modern' and 'funk', and these can appear anywhere, including in the song memo field.

This was my approach:
1: Made sure that I removed all filters first using the Clear button
2: Entered the text 'My Old School' in the familiar song title section and pressed <Enter>

That's great. It was in your "Recently Played Songs" list.
You might consider to open your original post and mark is [Resolved]. There's a button for that, and this can assist others in the future.
