Wrong Time Too

The flash move I had to make,
The rash groove I tried to break;
Bumbling take-down of a vex-some shrew,
Doin' what I always do.

Crack the back of all I knew;
Dump the chump to prove to you;
Jump in the cauldron
Of an all new stew--
Could be the WRONG TIME TOO.

I had a hunch that the timing was right;
This one might be running my way;
"Go take chances!
Circumstances..?
Go take a flyer!
Leap into the fire!"

The clear fear I might get burned;
The cool rule I'd say I've learned;
Stumbling through life, the doors are too few;
Why such a long time to
Come to connect with you.

Tom,

Love the old-time jazzy / standard feel of this piece. Great vocal and excellent mix.

Very nicely done.

Tom, that's an ambitious write, and the arrangement/mix really does a great job weaving a path for the vocals. Like your vocals a lot. The vocal FX chain is adventurous. I get the impression it's a throwback to the vocal sound of a 78 RPM record, but not quite. Super tune!

Nice to hear such an interesting and quirky arrangement. Great uses of the RTs and a really good balance all around.

Appreciate the feedback. I tried to use a “doubling up” of rhymes in the beginning of each line—kind of a lyric-writing “stretch” exercise.

Hi Tano,

Very interesting and entertaining song, with a melody leaning on the oldies (songs) and creative lyrics, like that!
Just like DC Ron, I found it 'exciting' to make your singing sound like an old record, or even a roll of wax, but it turns out well.
So, I really enjoyed it,

Hans

The doubled-up rhymes are clever, and that throwback vocal vibe feels bold—it’s like stepping into another era.

Really cool visual lyrics, interesting chords pattern, jazzy, and very cool. Like the trumpet / organ interaction. NICE

Such a cool opening that grabs attention and fills it with intrigue. I did a double talke on this line "Bumbling take-down of a vex-some shrew," and from there I was totally hooked. Man, what a wonderful solo section with the organ and trumpet. Excellent vocal with a good melody. The whole feel is good and I like how you pepper it with musical spaces.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Hello Tom
sounds really good and interesting with the vocal FX
I'm not very familiar with this type of music.
But I could imagine that the song would work well with less vocal FX
and would therefore be interesting for more listeners.
Maybe ;-)))
Well done
Andi ;-)
