Trying to make a last-minute decision as to whether or not ichard, as the Year-End Special ends at 11:59 PST. The Stem Splitter is the only New Feature that truly interests me so far (although I already have a standalone app for that from Universal Audio; it would just be nice to have it contained within a single bit of software).
But the thing that always bothered me was that I write longer pieces, and the 256-bar limit always stood in the way. Yes, there are hacks to get around that, BUT THEY ARE HACKS. I would simply prefer to do things the easy way.
Truth to tell, I haven't even unpacked or installed the last two versions. (In fact, I'm too embarassed to tell you from how far back those hail, lol.) But I might consider it if there were something truly meaningful to me this time around. Unlimited, or even just MORE, length might be a deal-maker.
Thanks for taking the time to read my last-minute request. It's good to know that a fun, informative community is available to me here. I plan to get working on composition and recording again this year, after having been away for waaaay too long due to ongoing family crises, multiple major surgeries (in fact, I'm having another next week, on the 22nd, but it won't keep me down for long), and other issues. I am always happy to reach out to, and hear from, friends old and new. I look forward to hearing from y'all soon!

The 2025 version of BIAB has a 255 bar limit. Despite so many requests, nothing has changed.

Hi Richard,
The 2025 version of BIAB has a 255 bar limit. Despite so many requests, nothing has changed. Thank you. Ridiculous. Despite having moved forward over three decades, we appear to be stuck with an 8-bit limit.

No double time here; I tend to write slow, spacy New-Age and blues-tinged material that goes on and on. (I just like to hear myself play, lol.) Plus, it's the only subgenre that wasn't already taken. The way I got more that 255 bars was using 2 BB Plugins in Reaper, the second instance is set to Sync start on bar 256.
With all the old code in the Delphi Biab not sure if they will ever get that sorted.
Same with RealTimeSignatures that will match up with any DAW.
