A while back I saw a video on "The World's Most Dangerous Bridges"...#1 was the Pamban railway bridge, a 100-year old rickety wooden span across a very wide bay in India. It's been replaced with something more modern, but it sounded like a very scary train ride. That gave me the idea of this, and--who doesn't want to write a "train" song! ---------------------------------- Fast Train (from Ceylon) Ceylon, goodbye! Next stop, Chennai! This train can fly! We're going home! First time to ride; Sweet blur outside; Me and my bride, We're going home! On the bridge we cross the Pambam; A shaky crawl get to Mandapam; Palk Strait's fierce below, so take it slow-- And now, just a few meters more.. ---------------------------------------------- Style: -BSBFL^1.STY. BossaBrushesFull...where I started...but only kept the Acoustic Bass RD: EthnicDrums 2 Beat RTs: 3844 Guitar Elec Chet Midi: Accordion, E Piano Midi Solo: J Pass Guitar Fast and McDuff Organ Bossa ..and Train Whistle and Chugging thanks to FreeSound

A very original idea, and the drums sound almost like an steam engine. Nice use of sound effects and creating that Indian touch with the sitar. Cool ![[Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]](https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/images/icons/default/thumbs_up.gif)

A very clear, unusual, but brilliant write. Nice effects and vocal. I enjoyed this one very much.

I love the concept behind this song. A site like Pamban bridge creates amazing artistic imagination in people. A train journey connects you emotionally to different locations during your trip.

Floyd, BD, Mario, Roycol...thanks for taking a "ride" on my "track"!! This was kind of like painting a picture in a song.

Ah, a good train song indeed, Tom. Man, what a fun ride, including the dangerous slowdown. And I really like how you rebuild the steam after that shaky bridge. Crazy MIDI solos. Such a fun ride, a bought another ticket back. I like the apparent open-air seating the music suggests.

Cool piece ... Like thew slow down in the middle as contrast to fast pace of the versus. The Joe Pass lead breaks are very cool. Constructive: The mix of the backing vs the leads and vocals could be a bit more balanced ... they do sound in the same the room. Cool song, great idea.

What a creative idea and execution of it. The arrangement is outstanding with the builds that emphasize the lyrics so well. The MIDI work is great.
Nice mix also and we enjoyed it!

Nice concept and interesting sounds. I suppose it could be improved by cutting down the lead when the vocal kicks in. It would sit nicely in a children's history story on radio or TV.

This appears to be a cool trip you had that's been turned into a musical memory. Very cool! I'm not a big fan of the midi sound but it still works. Have you tried using real tracks with this exact same BIAB chord set up? I'd be interested to see how that could sound.
