Recently I viewed the PG Music youtube video where they show the new features of BIAB 2025. In that video they show that it is possible to alter notes of RealTracks in the piano roll that has traditionally only been used for MIDI instruments. I have attempted and failed to achieve this. Is it only possible with certain new RealTracks? There is a gap in my knowledge here as I have never used the piano roll in the past. Can anybody enlighten me. I would love to be able to alter notes in solo instruments if it really is possible. Thanks in advance.
Brian.

Songwriting punctuates our lives. It is alchemy, turning pain into gold. Songs choose their composers when they enter the world. I try to remain open and ready.
Have a look at the below the video and see if that helps with playable Realtracks. This is a very comprehensive video (30 mins). While it is based on BIAB for Mac, the same principles should apply.
Also... The video below is a much shorter one and is for BIAB (Windows).
Unfortunately I have already watched these videos and they don't address editing Realtracks in the Piano Roll as this is a new feature in 2025.
Regards, Brian.

I'm not quite following. I've just had a look through the New Features for BIAB 2025 and the only things I can see related to Playable Realtracks are (a) the release of Set 4 (containing 99 new playable Realtracks; and, (b) the ability to search Playable Realtracks patches. As far as I'm aware (and I'm sure someone will help me out if I'm wrong) the techniques that actually use Playable Realtracks to modify a generated Realtrack are still the same as they were in 2022.
Just in case you have found this document, yet, the 'New Features' PDF is found under "Help | Program Manuals | Program upgrade manual".
Whereabouts did you find the information about 2025 and Realtracks? I may have missed something.
this video mentions the feature at the 49 second mark:

It's possible with all RealTracks using the Playable RealTracks feature. Not all RealTracks have exact samples for Playable RealTracks yet but PG Music has assigned suitable samples for all RealTracks as I understand it. The RealTracks Picker has a column that displays which RealTracks have notation and RealCharts. These RealTracks contain PG Music's having underlying midi with that RealTrack. Notation and the Piano Roll show midi data. In the Radio Bars across the top of the screen, RealTracks with RealCharts are underlined so this is a quick and convenient way to see what RealTracks have underlying midi.
I recall a statement from a PG staffer that all RealTracks can use the Playable RealTracks feature. This means that even if a RealTrack doesn't have PG Music related underlying midi data, it can be added by the user. I found this to be true in every instance I've tried it.
Just this week I demonstrated in another thread where I extracted and imported midi data into the BIAB Mixer from a commercially released hit song midi file of "Gimme Some Loving" by the Spencer Davis Group capturing the exact accurate performance of the song's signature Bass line. The style the user loaded into his project used the RealTrack RT2591 Bass which has a similar bass line but it gets busy and needed to be edited. RT2591 does not have RealCharts. So there is no underlying midi data. No problem.
It's a simple matter to import underlying midi or to input your own midi notes, convert the track or region into a Playable RealTrack region or the whole song so that RT2591 plays the accurate bass line for the song.
I appreciate your response. I will try to find more step by step instructions. If you are aware of any "how to" videos or written resources please let me know. Thanks for putting me on the right path.
Regards,
Brian.

This video from 2022 gives step by step directions for Playable RealTracks and they are the same for PC or Mac
The Playable RealTracks demonstration begins at 5:29. I don't think I've seen a video about importing midi data rather than inputting it but just ask if you have trouble with that. It's not completely intuitive and it's completely unique to BIAB.
I misunderstood the process. You were correct and I will spend some time studying the process. Thanks for your input and my apologies for my ignorance.

Yes Noel is correct. I totally misunderstood the process. I am still a little confused tbh. I'll put some brain power into learning more.

I'll figure it out and create a video on the subject once I am familiar enough with the process.
