Go On Teasin' on Soundcloud Go On Teasin' on YouTube You folks and this software are over-the-top inspirational, and I can't politely post all of these when they're done. Dave mentioned in my last song that he remembers adding his part in May of last year. This one was finished in June. Thanks for all you do folks. I really have no idea what this song is actually about, and neither will you, Even the characters in it are uncertain of their roles. Style is _TOWN.STY (Town 12-8 Gospel R&B Piano) [Gospel? Must be the lost Book Of BaBu.] RealTracks in style: 4291:Piano, Acoustic, Rhythm RnBSlow12-8Kevin Sw 060 RealTracks in style: ~529:Guitar, Acoustic, Strumming Hank Sw 065 RealTracks in song: 1955:Sax, Alto, Soloist TexasBluesRockSlow12-8Mark Sw 060 RealDrums in style:Nashville128^01-a:Sidestick, Hihat , b:Snare, Ride was used in the redesign in EZDDrummer. I added bass, vocal and keyboard Go On Teasin'Right down the hill from Bailey's Farm you'll see a path that takes you back into the scarey woods that surrounds this town. Then off the path you'll find a shack. Knock upon the door, and you'll be glad I'm sure. You're bound to smell the savoir faire. The setting's mighty pleasin,' but that's not the reason you'll be there. Go on inside but take your time. Make sure to keep an open mind. The darkness has a knack to take wits away, but through it all you'll find a sign. Take the scary leap, but never fall asleep. You'll dream about her bear, Babu. If you came to find a reason, she'll likely go on teasin' till you do. She makes the potions that will bring you to your knees. She has a magic knack. She stirs a tincture with some honey from her bees ensuring her you'll be back. She'll give you reason to stay another season, and you'll be thrilled to abide. You'll be glad you strayed from all the plans you made. The shack's a hideaway for you. When you feel you're losing reason, she'll likely go on teasin' till you do. Marty,
Love this one!
Your vocal is excellent and the song has that great late 50's early 60's rock & blues feel. A very cool Doc Pomus vibe.
Instrumentation and production is your usual high standard. Tight and punchy.
Awesome work!

Marty, cool tune! LOVE your slinky vocals, yodels and yelps. The vocal FX chain is quite nice, too. Very nice arrangement and instrumentation. The EP(?) section was especially nice to my ears. Really nice one!

I really have no idea what this song is actually about, and neither will you. I have an idea, I see a movie: this song is played in a saloon, all the guys are drinking, and then there's a brawl while the pianist is still playing in the middle of it. Yeah, that's what the song is about, regardless of the lyrics. No idea why there's a sax, though.

Bob Thank you very much, Bob. WOw, Doc Pomus!? Excellent this blues, Marty, I love the saxophone solo. Laurent Thanks, Laurent. At first I wanted to fashion the sax as more somber and mysterious, but he found the chord structure more celebratory. haha Marty, cool tune! LOVE your slinky vocals, yodels and yelps. The vocal FX chain is quite nice, too. Very nice arrangement and instrumentation. The EP(?) section was especially nice to my ears. Really nice one! Ha, thanks, Ron. Like the "yodels and yelps" moniker. Does EP mean electric piano? If so, thanks. Usually when I add anything other than bass, I keep it way out on the mix. But this one seemed to fit so well in the bridge. If not, listen again HAHA and see if you agree.

As I wrote on the YT post I really feel that this song has greater potential; IE: it's excellent as it is, but the chord structure would suit a faster tempo.

Marty,
That piano right out of the gate is engaging . . . and boy what a terrific write . . . patient and imaginative. Like that sax as well—just the right choice on the instrumental break. Perfect vocal mix. Excellent!!

Hi Marty,
I've always loved spunky piano Blues. And this one perfectly nails the genre.
Your vocal slider right over the lyric and give those words some real life.
You never disappoint - never.
All the best,
Alan

Dewey Thanks, Dewey. I'm not even sure what genre it is --was never good at that. I will, Dewey. Thanks, Brain. Good story. You should write a sequel. The sax-shooter could be shot down in a duel with the honky tonk piano player, or a traveling trumpet player. Storied country blues with a humorous twist...the Marty M.O. Works a treat and this one is smooth n slinks under the door. Ace. Thanks, Ray. You have a great way with words, my friend. As I wrote on the YT post I really feel that this song has greater potential; IE: it's excellent as it is, but the chord structure would suit a faster tempo. Thanks for the advice, Chay. I wouldn't be able to sing that fast. Still, you have the talent to draw out that potential.

Doesn't matter what it's about... I love these lines:

That piano sounds good! Strong Bass! Oooooh...that was the best sax solo I've heard in some time!
Nicely mixed.

Marty. Now who's holding back? Name and address please.
I agree with the other comment that the tempo could be upped and I couldn't help thinking what it would sound like even, other than swung. That Bbdim was a surprise. Well mixed as we have come to expect from you. Very interesting lyric.

fj Ha. Nice, Floyd. Those lines describe the whole thing best --as long as it's followed by a questioning shrug. Glad you like the piano, and I can almost agree about the superlative sax. Thanks so much. Marty, another winner I new what this song was about but as I started to type I lost that thought Regardless this is a fantastic song Thanks, Mario. You seem to have had a savoir faire moment, but it passed. Glad you like it. Marty. Now who's holding back? Name and address please.

Vic Well, she's just down the hill from Bailey's farm. (Bailey is a real person --wrote one about his dog Blue once.) But after that you either find it or you don't. If it was faster, not only would I have a hard time singing it, but we all would've ran right passed the place. Thanks, Vic.

“You'll dream about her bear, Babu.” Cool “connect your own dots” tune. Your vocal sets the mood perfectly. Nice performances by you vocally and instrument wise. Your keyboard on the bridge is cool - sounds like vibes. The sax solo sounds great. Good ole moody blues wrapped in an excellent mix. Enjoyed it! J&B
