I can't seem to get the hold function to work on my tag ending. I disabled automatic endings. I put three periods after my last chord and added a few extra bars to the ending so that the chord could be sustained. For example, the last chord is on beat 3 of measure 48 and the end of the tag is at 52, however the chord stops at the end of 48. I am using BIAB 2010 for Mac. Any suggestions?

Hello Fiddle,
If it isn't working with RealTracks, have you installed the "RealTracks Shots and Holds" file? If it isn't working with a MIDI style, try putting a "rest" chord at bar 52 (for example C. )

With the MIDI style I added the rest (C.) at the last measure of the tag, but the C... still did not hold. I added some RealDrums to the song and it seems to work properly. I can hear a cymbal decay over a couple measures.
I just upgraded from 2009.5 to 2010 and download the new files. I haven't yet received the hard drive with the remaining files. Could this have anything to due with the MIDI style not working?

Perhaps, try any chord other than C... (e.g. D...).

I don't know about the Mac version, but on the Windows version, if you want a hold on the last bar(s), then you have to end it with a Rest Chord (single period) that must be different than the chord you are holding. It's been that way for many, many versions and a fix has been requested. My guess is that it's the same for the Mac version as the Windows version.
So you might have C... on bar 48, but then try D. on bar 52. As long as the final Rest Chord is different, it should work. Of course, how long it sustains depends upon which instruments you have selected. A trumpet can hold the note out that long, but a piano is going to decay much sooner.

Right, I recently removed the condition of requiring a chord after the final held chord, so that the ending chord can be a held chord, or the song can have no ending, and the last chord can just be a held chord.
That applies to Windows and Mac, (MIDI and RealTracks), and that will show up in the next patch, due next week.
