Good morning
After waiting over a month I received the Audiophile 2025 SSD today.
Even adding all the Bonus Paks, Xtra-Styles Paks, Xpro-Styles Paks, etc, purchased from 2017 onwards I only see 8400 styles after the rebuild. Before I had reached almost 12000 styles (pg music styles only). How do I know if I have installed everything? On the add-ons page it seems so.
Thanks you very much for any advice
Kind Regards
Angelo

I don't know, and yes, I have 11,600+.

Make sure you update to Build 1125e. Then do a Return to Factory Settings, Most. See if that helps. If not, I suggest you call or chat with PG Music Support.

Angelo, did you do "rebuild" after install?

Only other explanation I can think of is that you installed packs not where your bb folder lives.

Thanks Matt Finley and Rustyspoon for the good suggestions.
The styles counting did not change. So I decided to go for a slow rebuild. Strangely 3500 styles, classified as user or 3rd-party styles, were added and now the counting is again correct (11900). But I never made user styles or added 3rd party styles. I have no explanations.
Kind Regards

Hi Angelo,

If the styles only show up with a 'Slow' rebuild', it means that they are not 'known' by the Styles database. I'm not sure why that would be the case based on your description, but I would expect that downloading and installing the most recent patch would have a good chance of sorting it out. If not, look in your bb\Data folder - what are the dates of the files stylz1.bin and factory_stylz1.bin?" Are you running Band-in-a-Box from your C: drive, or from the Audiophile drive?

You should normally only do a Fast rebuild if you have not made your own .STY files.

To check which Styles sets are missing:
1. Open the StylePicker and Fast rebuild.
2. Go to the 'Other' dropdown menu | "Show Styles that are found...." | "Show ONLY N/A styles".
3. Sort by the Set# column and scroll through the list. You can see there if you are missing any Xtra Styles sets for example.

Thanks Andrew for the useful suggestions.
1) I run BIAB from the Audiophile SSD
2) Regarding the bin files in the data folder, I see both stilz1.bin (4/2/2025) and factory_stylz1.bin (29/11/2020) with the same dimension.
3) I've tried to check the N/A styles procedure you've suggested. On SSD, after slow rebuild, no styles at all.
4) One more thing. In the SSD bb\Data folder I see the files exe, the full and trial tickets and the NNpredictionDispatcher_on.dll. I see also many stx + sty, st2+xt2 files (years 2016/2017). Is it normal ? What can I do with them ?
Thanks a lot
Kind Regards
Angelo

Hi Angelo,

factory_stylz1.bin (29/11/2020)
This is an old file, and is why you aren't seeing new styles.

No, that's not normal.
- The bbw*.exe files, NNpredictionDispatcher_on.dll, and *.ticket files should be in the main /bb folder, and not in the /bb/data folder. It shouldn't cause any problems for them to be in /bb/data, but you may want to remove them to clean up the folder (assuming you ALSO have those files in the /bb folder).
- .STY and .STX files should be in /bb/Styles.
- .ST2 and .XT2 files should be in /bb/Soloists.

I'm not sure specifically how you ended up with those files in the wrong places, but it may be some combination of running an old installer / choosing wrong destination folder. I can tell you how to fix this. Follow these steps:

A) Remove/move the files I mentioned above. These are likely duplicate files, so should be safe to delete them. However, instead of deleting, you might just move them to a different location somewhere outside the bb folder, and leave them there temporarily until you are convinced that everything is working, and then you can get rid of them.

B) In the \bb\Data folder, find the BB_Cleanup.exe and run this. This could help clean up any other misplaced files.

C) I have consolidated the 'extra' files in your account. Log into your Products page and download the new installers there that you see at the top. When installing these (and any other Band-in-a-Box related files), choose /bb as the destination for the Band-in-a-Box folder, and also the RealTracks and Drums folders. Of course, add the drive letter appropriate (e.g. G:\bb if your Audiophile drive happens to be G:)

D) Download the 1125e update patch and install to the same location as above.

E) Open Band-in-a-Box and do a Fast rebuild.

It should now be fixed.

Andrew, I thought about the Cleanup utility but decided against it when Angelo mentioned “2017 onwards” which would imply he had a BIAB version at least 2018 when the folder reorganization occurred. I’m wondering now if he had BIAB 2017 and ONLY bought Xtra styles since then.

If someone did that, and upgraded for BIAB 2017 to BIAB 2025, does the current installer run the Cleanup utility automatically, like BIAB 2018 did?

Andrew,
You are right, I must correct my fourth point:
4) In the SSD /bb folder I see the files exe, the full and trial tickets and the NNpredictionDispatcher_on.dll. I see also many stx + sty, st2+xt2 files (years 2016/2017). Is it normal ? What can I do with them ?
During cut and paste operations it remained an erroneous bb\data in the message.

I have appreciated your advises A-E) very much.
I still have a lot of things to learn !
THX. Kind regards. Angelo

That makes more sense. A very old installer probably put the .sty, .st2, .stx, and .xt2 files there. The other files (.exe, tickets, dll) do belong there. This can be fixed by running /bb/data/BB_cleanup.exe, or by simply moving the .stx /.sty to Styles folder and .st2 /.xt2 to Soloists folder.
