I was trying to build backing tracks for a few bossa tunes, and noticed that if I use a RealStyle, all Minor Major 7 chords are incorrectly played as regular Minor 7 chords. This is not the case with MIDI styles - they play these chords correctly. I tried many bossa, bepop, swing, smooth jazz styles, all of which should be able to play this as its not an uncommon chord in those genra.
I found surprisingly little in terms of previous threads about the topic and none of them seem to come to a conclusion. There is a workaround to write the chord as slash chord half step below the intended base (i.e. CmMaj7 written as Baug/C) and this has the right notes but the voicings and baseline are ugly at best.
I have BIAB Mac 2024 (803) running on a MacBook Pro M1 with 16GB, and as a specific example I would use just any stagnant mMaj7 chord using any of the bossa Band styles, say _BOSSAPT.STY, but from what I can tell none of the RealStyle can play this.
I am a newbie in these BIAB forums so not sure this is the best forum, but gotta start somewhere...

A couple things that might be 'useful information.' With Realtracks, BIAB can only play a particular chord if the musician recorded that chord by playing it in the parent audio recording for the Realtrack. It is also possible that, if the chord exists within the Realtrack audio, BIAB is substituting a different chord. By default, BIAB will do this if the program's analysis of the chord progression determines that a better chord exists. To disable this option, under Song Settings and in the Natural Arrangements window, select "Disable natural arrangements for this song". With Natural Arrangements disabled, it is then possible that using "Auto fix sour notes" (set to Chord) will correct the Realtrack note for you. Matt Finley has written about what to do if the chord is playing something different from what is entered. His article is in the post below. It is worth reading. https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=694482#Post694482Also.. have you tried Ebaug/C? This might give better voicing than Baug/C. Ebaug/C should place the major 7th note above the minor 3rd (Eb) rather than below it.

Thanks, that did the trick. Turning off “natural arrangement” allows mMaj7 chords to play correctly. Matt Finleys explanation of what goes on with trying to match existing “natural” chord progressions makes sense. Having said that I would argue that a stagnant mMaj7 chord on a bossa is not that unnatural:).

As a suggestion, once you get a performance you like it's best to freeze the tracks, just in case BB substitutes a chord next time you open the song.

Glad you found a solution, and welcome to the forums. I compose Brazilian jazz and could not do without a mMaj7 chord. Very natural indeed. Also it's found in film music as the James Bond ending chord, where it has a slightly unnerving sound.
As an aside, in the early days of RealTracks there could be times when a RealTrack simply was silent on this chord. That made it easier to spot than playing the wrong chord... When I encountered this happening, I would report it to PG Music Support. Usually there was a correction to some index and the next patch fixed it.
