I was thinking of Roy Orbison the other day and how much I missed his style.
My voice isn't up to it but I did what I could to try and get the idea across.

All to blue © 2025 Vic Arnold
V1
Colours change from where I stand.
The grass, the sand.
All have changed to blue.
The sound of footsteps fade away.
They held me sway
in memories of you.
Ch.
That touch. That kiss. A moment's bliss.
I reminisce
and what else can I do?
I walk my thoughts along the shore,
just before
the moon turns all to blue?
V2
Another thought. Another day
that slips away
into that stream of fantasy.
Spun around by swirling surf.
Swallowed up
once more by the endless sea.
Inst.
Br.
Darkness has fallen
and all of my dreams, have washed away.
Away
Ch.
That touch. That kiss. A moment's bliss.
I can't resist
and what else can I do?
But walk my thoughts along the shore,
just before
the moon turns all to blue?

Vic,

I think this song is absolutely wonderful... The chorus is really beautiful.

You have indeed captured the Orbison vibe. It has a similar feel to a song called "California Blue" from his Mystery Girl album. Very nice!

Another new favorite!

I really like the whole thing: song, style, mixing and orchestration. It's very neat.

This is an incredibly good song on every level, Vic. The instrumentation and production is brilliant, as are the lyrics. I really enjoyed listening to this and even though it's not Roy Orbison your vocals suit it 100%. In fact I think I've enjoyed listening to this song more than anything else I've heard on the forum to date. It's wonderful - it's superb! Really, really well done.

#92: Be Love Now, the rest will come on its own.

Vic, this is fantastic.
The vocal might not be Roy's but you did an outstanding job on it
Super lyrics
Definitely has the Orbison vibe
Sounds great.

PS - Are you picking that lead guitar?

Vic, beautiful song, you definitely captured the classic RO vibe. The harmonies are really well done. Like the arrangement and mix a lot. The fade ending is sweet, too. Sure, you're no Roy Orbison, but...who is? Who will ever be? A worthy tribute.

Roy was always a good listen, and, man, you two have that in common, Vic. What a sensational production, and mixed so well. I'm sure if he heard you, YOU would be HIS inspriration. Cool Bridge, and I really enjoy the melody throughout. That guitar and the way you used it is the best.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Hi Bob. Thank you sir.
I actually had to struggle to keep it from sounding like Blue Bijou.

Andante moderato?
The melody & story hold the attention but that guitar's embellishments are cool too.

Cheers

Thank you Mario.
That’s Brent on the guitar. I could have played some of the simpler parts but then why not let the man have all the credit?

Thanks Marty.
I'm flattered but I don't think Roy needed much inspiration.
Lucky I saw this mention of a "cool bridge" as I was contemplating changing it.

I think you captured exactly what you set out to achieve.

A nice mix, not too busy, and great lyrics.

Hi Floyd.
I worried about the vocal for a while as it was a different tone to what is comfortable for me but then thought, “go with it”.
Thank you for the encouraging words.
