Nice song, but could your vocals be louder? You do have a nice voice and the miles behind you are sudible, which makes me believe on what your singing.

I think you did great job capturing the essence of Roy Orbison. The Yearning in the vocals, the feel of the lyrics, and overall groove of this song.

I had to look up that word "sudible" and couldn't find it so I assume it could be a typo.
I did increase the vocal volume a tad but not sure if it was enough.

Forget any comparisons between the voices (yours, and Roy Orbison's). For me, first of all, the SONG just jumps out at me. The writing, both lyrical and musical, is simply outstanding. That's the very first thing that stood out, for me. And then comes the rendition. Yes, maybe it's not quite Roy, but it's heartfelt and beautiful, like many of the renditions where the composer himself sings. One TINY suggestion: maybe you could make it so that your voice track is clearer? It's a little "out of focus", for my own ears (for what that's worth), at the moment. Maybe that's how you wanted it, in which case forget my own thoughts  ... but, if not, maybe you could make it a tad more "in focus"? Otherwise, absolutely BRILLIANT song. Moving, and heartfelt.

Thank you for your thoughts, James.
I have been struggling with the clarity in my vocal mix since I changed DAWS.
It could be to do with FX or my actual aging voice, but I have reduced the amount of delay in this instance.
I hope it makes a difference.

You certainly have the Orbison vibe in the lyric, especially the chorus
Definitely a different feel with the lyric also.
Vocal is wistful - very nice
Orbison was a one of a kind and we miss his style too.

This video demonstrates how to use the new AI-Notes feature together with the AI-Stems splitter, allowing you to select an audio file and have it separated into individual stems while transcribing each one to its own MIDI track.
