Lower Than The Bottom

A little change of pace from the last several songs I've posted. I put this one together back in the summer of 2023. It's a Swamp Blues, for lack of a better description. Just now got around to posting it. Hope you like it a little bit. Thanks in advance.

Alan

Yes, definitely 'swampy'. The resonator guitar added an interesting dimension.

Yes Alan it's different but it still has your great touch on it!

That bluesy progression speaks to me! I felt myself drawing inspiration from it!
I'm now going to have to explore some bluesy ideas!
I hope you are doing well friend!

Thanks, TB

Wow, now THAT's a nifty blues progression! You've certainly found a new voice for the resonator. Everything twists and turns around your theme very smoothly, and is mixed perfectly per usual. Another nice one!

If you consider BIAB to be an "instrument" that one must learn to properly play, you are a Virtuoso.
So far above the rest of us.

Hi Bob.

Yep. Tony Joe White is what I had in mind. Thought I'd keep that to myself and wait ti see if anyone else got the same vibe. Well, that didn't take long! I've never met him, but I know a few people who have. They had nothing but good things to say about him.

Thank you for the nice comments - always appreciated. best to you.

AT,

I appreciate your time to listen and comment so nicely.

I experiment a lot with combining instruments and styles that you don't normally hear together. Sometimes it works out pretty good.

I see music as kind of a parallel aura to our daily lives. It speaks in multiple languages, it inspires. it wrings emotions from the heart, soul, and brain. It comforts in times of grief, it accentuates moments of joy and happiness. It lives and breathes alongside our "real/mortal" world. I could go on, but I think you get my drift. As music creators, we just have to find a way to effectively blend the two.

OK, done with all that. Just a little insight to how I approach music and its importance that so often goes unnoticed.

I'm delighted you enjoyed it. I appreciate knowing that. Wishing you the very best.

Alan

Torrey,

Those are some real nice words! Any time my music can inspire anyone, particularly another composer, I feel I did a pretty good job with my creation. Those words from you put another feather in my hat.

I hope your exploration yields something useful for you. Don't hesitate to try the seemingly ridiculous. You never know! You are an excellent composer and singer - one of the best on the forum.

Wishing you everything good.

Floyd,

I'm always lost for words to appropriately thank you for your wonderful comments.

For me, BIAB is, indeed, an instrument. Much like a sophisticated keyboard, you have so many options available for you to create almost any musical sound you can think of. I don't know if a virtuoso or not, but that was so nice of you to say. I spend a lot of time listening to tracks every time a new version is available, making notes about sounds/tracks that I think would work together and I've not found a style using them. It sounds like pure crap sometimes, but occasionally something good comes of it. I do investigate all the hallways of BIAB, keeping my eyes and ears tuned in.

So far above the rest of you? There are some talented and great music creators on these forums. I admire many of them and often say to myself, "Damn, he/she assembled some really terrific sounds - wish I was that good." But, that you would say that, humbles me and makes me work harder at this stuff!

Best to you & yours.

Alan

Very handy playing of a resonator guitar. Still I wished, that song had some change or vocals: it was a bit repeating it self, but still a nice easy listening in the backgorund.
