After trying a Latin-flavored jammy-thing and a bossa jammy-thing, ...I figured I had to try the cliché blues-y jammy-thing.

I also figured I'd owe an apology to the guys here who actually play blues.
My record collection had no Blues. My radio never went there.
So I titled this "Apologies".
Starting.. real.. slow...
When I got done, I felt okay about it.
So I changed the name.

INSINCERE APOLOGIES

The BIAB crew (they know what they are doing):

Have at it.

Floyd,

How about "Unapologetically Blue"
I know you are kind of experimenting here, but It really sounds nice!
The guitar has a great clean sound for blues!
I was halfway through before realizing, wait a minute this is a Floyd song and no singing is going on! But that's ok, it was still a pleasure to listen to!
This may be one to bring a set of lyrics back to and express your bluesier side vocally one day!
Great sounds!
Take care, TB

Very moody blues rock, Floyd 'Unsincere' Jane.
I love what you do with your Strat, and this is a stellar mix!
With plenty of space for, say, a singer?
So, take your pen, write some ' Wherever I go, it's raining' blues lyrics and sing!
Pretty, pretty please ... or ask Janice

Floyd,

Love the Strat tones you are getting here. Some really nuanced lines. Sounds great with the rest of the band. The mix is awesome as well.

You should feel very good about this blues tune! Loved it!

Oh good Lawd
Why do I got to feel so much pain
Oh good Lawd
Why do I have to sleep
In this filthy dirty stinking Mississippi Delta rain
Oh good lawd
It's a filthy rotten down home shame
My woman, stole all my money
Shack up with my best friend and then my brother
And won't even give me back my name
0h good Lawdy now
It's a filthy rotten got no chicken
got no pork chops
got no mashed potatoes and gravy
got no hush puppies
got a bad evil woman
down in the devil's gone to hell
Midnight at the crossroads
Copperhead and cottonmouth infested
Swamp full of alligator
busted car broken shoes
going out of my mind
down home
Busted pipe
rusted truck
Burnt down trailer
got nothing left to lose
But give the devil back his contract
Mississippi Delta blues

Okay there now you have some lyrics.
I'll sing it if you want.
I'm only asking for 60% on this one. 10% off my usual 70%.

The guitar is good now. That's why I am giving you a deal.

Nice city blues.
Playing blues is always fraught - Clapton proved that he could go from hero to zero on Journeyman. He went from feeling it to just dealing it...he played like a journeyman at an unpleasant job. This is pretty calm, no confected whipping up n down as you explore your own playing and offer it for listening.
I agree with others in that the song is begging for a vocal to push the expression.
Tone is ace - clean with fur.
The licks n lines are really good - no over play & there're holes left for the head n heart to fill.
Your lead journey is really taking long, assured strides.

Cheers

Floyd, for a man with no blues in his record collection you sure can play the hell out of the blues.
Super clean tone. That axe of yours is crying! Outstanding chops.
I am a blues fan and I have records and CD recordings of the blues all the way back to those great black artists with one guitar and one foot pounding out the tempo. Thus I can say with some authority that this is one outstanding blues instrumental.

Floyd, super tone and feel. Love the slow BiaB folks jammin' along. Nice development of the themes, use of space and dynamic flow. If this is the blues, why does it make me happy? Great job!

Floyd,

Well, you certainly owe no apologies of any kind for this great Blues number!

Immediately got B.B. King feel. For a newbie (or a journeyman) in the genre, you aced it. Don''t you wish you'd started working with lead riffs years ago- Blues or otherwise? You have a natural sound/feel it.

I've always liked the sound of a Strat, but they were never comfortable in hand. I played a Tele and/or a Gibson ES-335 for most of my music career. I once had an original '54 Tele. I sold it for a huge profit when I left Germany in 1988. Wishing now that I hadn't.

Oh, forgot - that bass line was stellar, equally so as your lead playing.

Wishing you & yours everything good.

Alan

I found this as a very played and produced blues song, but was longing more emotion. Nothing wrong in it, but left no feelings afterwards. It sounded much like those records of the British Blues Revival bands of the late 1960s I grew up with. They had learned from the records of the genuine blues musicians of the USA how to play blues, but haven't lived the lifes of them. "You can't sing the blues, if you ain't got troubles:"

Really good feel here, Floyd, and good choice of notes. Nice tone too!

I disagree 100% with Brno BTW. No emotion? Give me a break.

Enjoyed.

Cool laidback blues. This piece reminds me of music I'd hear in clubs in the late 60s.

More mastery from you, Mr Floyd.

The smoky bar introduction set the scene.... and lingers, creating all of the right tension and anticipation.

Nothing disappoints. I can see the half-empty glass of bourbon sitting lazily on the bar, never being sure if its owner is ever coming back for another sip, or maybe a mouthful.

Hi Floyd,

For a guy who doesn't play the Blues this is a very good effort - good tone on the guitar also especially in the lower frets.

Well done.

Best Regards
Nigel

Ho, oh, man, I actually laughed out loud, even when no one else is around. The only time I ever did that before was watching Red Skelton ad lib. Apologies, and then realizing none were needed cuz you got this, Floyd.

Okay, I calmed down and pushed Play... Oooo, love that tone, and you're bending those notes as if your radio must have changed to the Blues channel when you slept. Great band and mix of course, but I am blown away by your ability on so many instruments. Hey, seriously, this is so compelling that I got to the end and realized you weren't singing. Then I pushed play again so I could play along with chords on my high-five fretless. Fun. I had at it without apologies.

Enjoy whatever happens!
