Hi All,

Here's something new called HOMEGIRL.

Fading away
Our town
It’s just fading away
Our town

Running from this April day
Brush in tow to paint the gray
Going dark with nothing to say, hmm
On the flat side of the night
I see darkness you see light
This homegirl is taking flight

Fading away
Our town
It’s just fading away
Our town

Your old plaid suitcase in hand
No destination no plan
It’s not hard to understand, hmm
Can’t give in fall hard and grieve
I’ll rollup my denim sleeves
Give you the miles that you need

Fading away
Our town
It’s just fading away
Our town

Homegirl fading away
Our town
It’s just fading away
Our town

Fading away
Our town
It’s just fading away
Our town

Homegirl fading away
Our town
It’s just fading away

AH, so good, Bob & Joliz. Love you guys. Joliz, you probably fit in well with anyone singing and also singing solo, but, man, you are the perfect match for Bob's vocal. Such a wonderfully lulling song.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Another beaut, Bob. That D-18 sounds GREAT. Super vocals, and Joliz just floats above it all with her ethereal harmonies. Cool hymn to the complexity of time and memories. Completely different song, but am reminded of The Pretenders' "My City Was Gone". Nice one!

This is just a brilliant song both lyrically and musically. Probably my favourite of yours to date. Had someone shown me the lyrics and the music and I played it, then they asked me who wrote it I'd have guessed Neil Young. Alternatively had it been performed by NY and was a track on his "Colorado" album and someone said it's not an NY song, Bob Dean wrote it, I'd not have believed it. That's a mega-compliment. Also Joliz' backing vocals also give it that kind of vibe as NY often had womanifestations of the divine feminine like Linda Ronstadt and Nicolette Larson backing him. It's a gorgeous song! Well done both of you! Love it.

Some favourite Waoist Adages:
#1: Play on the Way.
#13: Ask not for whom the flower blooms, it blooms for you.
#58: Bring consciousness to it.
#63: On the road to effortlessness, effort must be made.
#92: Be Love Now, the rest will come on its own.

Bob, you always come through with songs that capture the imagination of the listener and take them on a journey. Joliz is a perfect vocal fit. The unstated arrangement is complimentary to the mood put together very well. I very much enjoyed it all! The D18 has always been my favorite acoustic. By the way I see you have made the move to Logic. Be sure and download the Legacy files. They have some really cool Acoustic guitar effects. There is a lot under the hood and after 20 years of use I still find things buried in there that I never knew existed. Great work on the song.

Bob.
That swirling background adds to the message of fading away.
Lovely sad song.

Bob,

It's a lovely smooth flowing singer-songwriter song!
The choice of the MalletsSlow16ths was a great choice they really help keep the sound smooth and mellow!
The chorus while simple with the chord progression is very effective with Joliz supporting you!
It's another great effort Bob!

Take care, TB

You do the best album covers!

Such writing.

"Give you the miles that you need"

Just one example of a guy who truly knows how to use words to their full potential.

Terrific vocals. You guys are a great team.

A wonderful production. Always nice to hear your guitar. The chorus strings are perfect. Simple and effective.

So good.

Wow, very poignant for so many right now. I'm having trouble finding the words to describe the feelings it gave me. There are certain songs in my memory that I will always love for the emotion they evoked: Duran Duran's Say a Prayer, Life in a Northern Town by the Dream Academy, More than This by Roxy Music. This had whatever those also have.

Bob, you really know how to tell a story via music. This story could have been written about a number of towns in my area.
Outstanding in every area, i.e. vocals, instrumentation, mix, etc
IMHO this is your best to date.
Loved it
