Hello All
Happy Spring! (just two weeks away)

Finished (for now) this piece about a week ago. It was inspired by Sufism and the metaphor that the heart is a chamber of gold. I liked the idea and ran with it. Always appreciate your musical impressions or criticisms. Personally I feel like I've turned a corner with it.

Now that I see I will soon be getting an UltraPak (HURRAY!!!), I'l soon have access to a lot more sounds, styles and choices!

Secret of Secrets

Style is _DREAMUP.STY (Dream Up Retro Pop Piano Ballad)

RealTracks in style: 2702:Bass, Synth, CloudRapSub Ev16 075
RealTracks in style: 891:Piano, Acoustic, Solo-Accompaniment PopLiverpool Ev 065
RealTracks in style: 870:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm ModernRnBRockWarmQuarters Ev 065
RealTracks in style: 871:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm ModernRnBRockWarmStrum Ev 065
ReaTracks in song 3670:Piano, New Age, Rhythm Halfnote Chords
RealDrums in style:RetroPop^01-a:Bass, HiHat , b:Bass, Snare
Vocals and harmonies are mine with the usual dynamics and reverb

PS: Aside, I have a request which I notice some already do. If you post a youtube video, maybe also post an alternative way to listen. I try very hard to make sure this browser never sees the world of Google (unless I get tricked into it and then have to clean everything again) but it prevents me from hearing/commenting on more and more tunes!

And how little there seems to be in our current world of the
deeper meanings in this song - sounds like a 'prayer' Beth,
very well done!
I always roll off the very bottom end of the bass in a mix
to avoid boominess - maybe others could confirm but to
my ears there's a hint of that in your mix, otherwise excellent Beth!

Beth, nice tune! Love the arrangement and the vocals/harmonies are excellent. Also love the middle eight where you change up the chords, that's a cool little twist. Very satisfying, hymn-like song with a both stark beauty and food for the soul. This sounds quite polished, you should be proud.

Carl, I love that it evoked the word "prayer" for you. That lit me up. Thank you. I'll try to be more sensitve to the bass in future...as you may know, I'm a regular Sergeant Hans Schultz ( "I know nothing!" ) when it comes to the mixing and fixing.

Thanks, TuneMonger. The lyrics are in the Soundcloud description so I didn't add them here. Maybe best practice to add them in both places!

Missed you, Beth. Good to have your sounds still available on SC. This is another beauty, a gem shining forth from your chamber of gold. Scientists tell us our planet doesn't make gold, and all that's here came from outer space colliding with us. Depends on your definition of gold. I say this is gold created from your love of music and the heart within you.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Another beautiful song of the spirit, Beth, and great use of BiaB. Re Sufis, if I could go back in time to meet any historic character and also be able to speak the same language it'd be to meet Ibn 'Arabi. One of my favourite quotes of his is:
"My heart has become capable of every form: it is a pasture for gazelles and a convent for Christian monks, and a temple for idols and the pilgrim's Ka'aba and the tables of the Tora and the book of the Qur'an. / I follow the religion of Love: whatever way Love's camels take, that is my religion and faith."

Re your PS: which browser do you use? I primarily post on YouTube as elsewhere my material rarely ever gets seen, plus you'd have to log-in to the sites. I also post on SoundCloud, but rarely the same time as I do here. I use the Firefox browser and search with DuckDuckGo and I've never ever had a problem with either accessing YouTube.

Some favourite Waoist Adages:
#1: Play on the Way.
#13: Ask not for whom the flower blooms, it blooms for you.
#58: Bring consciousness to it.
#63: On the road to effortlessness, effort must be made.
#92: Be Love Now, the rest will come on its own.

Beth, an outstanding song
Great vocal and lyrics
I agree with Carl that the bass is a little "boomy".
Regardless this is an outstanding song.

No matter what browser I use I have to sign into YouTube via Google. I believe that is what Beth was saying. I don't like it but I listen a lot on YouTube thus I sign in.

Hi Wao, I know that quote, at least the last part of it; it resonates with me also and I like knowing the rest of it. Thanks for sharing it. Regarding youtube, no matter the browser, even if I didn't sign in to Google, they still place cookies every single time and it is a bit of a pain to remove them; it's not so much a hassle as it is annoying that they do it at all. I'll follow you on soundcloud if you want to share your link.

Echo all the positives from the forum…I really enjoyed this, esp the simple, basic backing to allow the vocal and the harmonies come forward. And a great, positive message. Great work!

Virtually every site I need to log-in to a small window pops up inviting me to sign-in with Google, but why would I want to, particularly when it's quicker not to? They obviously want to know what everyone's doing all of the time!
Here's my SoundCloud link (I think!) where I'm lucky if anyone even notices a new post other than all of those distribution dudes:
