I'm fairly sure you captured all of the right emotions of enduring endless rain, rain, rain grin

A great choice of style.

Nigel, cool blues! Like the sparse arrangement and your use of shots. Vocals are fabulous, as usual. I was GOING to say it's nice to hear a song that's not a standard from you, but I think you may have written a new standard. Ha! Nice one.

Hi Nigel,

This title of your song was what my sister was sighting for a week in Australia. it's still not over.
But besides that, this is a delightful Blues. As usual your vocals are great!
That harmonica fits in like a glove. Now make a song about sunshine ;-)

You hit the "traditional" blues style right on the head. Perfect all the way around. Loved hearing the work.

Hi Nigel!
This genre is something I wouldn't normally listen to, which just illustrates the idea that listening to something outside of one's preferences is really good for songwriting inspiration.

I'm no vocalist, but what amazed me is how well you use your voice to its fullest to suit the melody and lyrics - particularly the low notes, glissando slides between pitches, and the loose timing around the beat. It has made me think about how to match vocal performance to the requirements of the song.

Could you send some of your rain over to fellow antipodeans in Adelaide? We haven't seen a drop for months!

Nigel,

An authentic Blues song that well-represents the genre. You already know I really like your vocals. You didn't disappoint.

A nice write and terrific presentation. You aced it! That's some fine listening!

Your songs still playing, but I liked it instantly. It's raw and dirty. When I saw Rain Rain Rain, I thought of Eric Clapton but this is nothing like that, of course. The slide and occasional grit in your voice is perfect. I was definitey transported to a ramshackle club in the deep south.

Excellent original blues!
Love the lyric, and you have the best blues voice on the forum I think.

Ooo, what a good write, and no one can perform it like you, Nigel. That harmonica is perfect for lamenting about the constant sky crying.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Loved your singing and the harp. The call and response between the two was very natural. Will the levee break? ; )

It seems like it will NEVER rain again in Texas. You do a great job with the vocals! Very nice.

The harmonica sounds great too.

Oh, you wrote a song about the current weather situation here at my place.
Cool cool

Pretty good blues and great use of the harmonica, and as always it's your vocals that give the whole thing that certain something.
Well done, Nigel!
