No matter what, this is so GOOD. I love that vocal, Tom, and I'm with ya on the aging voice. As long as you're having fun creating them, the fun comes out in the song. Such a good mix of instruments so well placed in the mix. It's so cool how your songs always seemed filled with fun roadtrips. Excellent song.

Enjoy whatever happens!

So glad you're a musician but if not, maybe be a carpenter, because you sure can nail 'em!

This is a very enjoyable listen.

Charlie you always make me laugh. Even when I’m sober. Thanks for that and the thoughtful comments.

I’ve been on the fence about synth voices, and I remember fooling around with an AI “voice converter” that takes any vocal and “applies” an AI voice. I’m not totally understanding what you did here, but this is SOOO convincing that you are compelling me to give it more time….all I can say is Wow! Of course, it’s a stellar composition and arrangement. Thanks for this “tutorial”!

Hey Tommy,

Man I love this song. Really great construction and fantastic production as usual.

The AI vocals are okay I guess, I mean they certainly are about as good as you can get with AI but to me AI is still AI.

You have one of my favorite voices around here and I love to hear you sing your own songs no matter what. To me you have a distinctive, growling Warren Zevon type sound to your vocals that grabs me right away and glues me to the song. It's magnetic. Once I start listening I can't stop. It's totally about the Tommy Ad vocals for me.

I would pay someone that knows how to program this stuff to come up with a synth voice that sounds like you but not like this guy and then have you replace it or let me replace it at my end.

Hope that doesn't sound rude man I'm just saying I really really like the sound of your voice in whatever shape that it's in, in it's natural form, because that's the magic for me.

Anyway I really liked it man and I hope you're doing great!!

Your use of the AI voice is the best I've heard so far! I still imagine hearing you sing this though!
I understand very well about the struggle of controlling an aging voice!

Take care! TB
Thanks Torrey. I’m having fun learning new ways to be creative. I’m ok with not singing for now. But it doesn’t mean it won’t ever happen.

Great country toe tapper

PS: And if I should ever use this Suno thing for vocals (e.g. in my next song), I'll blame it all on you.
It's all your fault!
BDT, thanks for coming by. I see where you came over to the dark side. I really like what you’re doing with your music.

Love everything about this song - instrumentation, arrangement, mix, etc - plus the synth vocals and backing vocals are 1st class. SynthV voices are crap compared to what you're using,

As you must know by now, road trips is what I do and have done most of my life. Born in the backseat of Greyhound Bus. Thanks Dickie for putting it into words. Thanks for your kindness.

Hey Tom, thanks for your vulnerability with all of this. I think that's what has you excel as a songwriter too.

I'm not going to get into much; but wanted to say how great I think this song is. I love it man.

Remember this too. I feel this is a great example of how to use AI, personally. To give a voice to someone when they need it.

The good news is, while we are getting better at using it, it will continue to get better for us to use as well. I personally can't wait. And I'm not. wink

Btw, if this isn't a song already, it should be!

I had the same thought as you and put my voice through an Ai converter. It sounded even worse than the real one. As I mentioned before this doesn’t mean that I’m through singing forever it’s just a different way of doing things for now. I getting ready to post another song and stripped out the vocals and tried to sing it. Ouch, it was not good so I put everything back. We’ll see how it goes in the future but for now I’m going to continue with my experiments. Thanks for all your support over the years. I appreciate it.

Hey Chad, thanks for weighing in. I’m always happy to see your name pop up and to read your comments. I realize that Ai is controversial and isn’t for everyone but I feel like it is worth exploring as it will be hard to ignore. When it comes to the future it’s hard to go back. Another song idea? Stay well.

Excellent lyric -- you are so good with those true life narratives.
Loved this line among many:
“i’m sorry that I put you through my middle age mistakes”

Your steel and guitars … YES!

The singer sounds so much like Ronnie Bowman -- a good thing.

Great mix and excellent work melding the vocals with the BiaB wrecking crew.

Enjoyed it!

Hi Tom, I really thought it were your vocals I was listening to.
And I wantede to say, "no matter what aging is doing to us, if you have a voice like this, keep on singing".
But I haven't noticed you used AI. But you know what?
I don't care. You made a really good song, nice rhythm and I really like that voice.
I really enjoyed listening to it all!

What a cool groove Tommy. That vocal was amazing. Really sounds like you with a touch of autotune. Love that effect. Lyric and backtrack was excellent as well..
