OP devonplayer Journeyman Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 455 devon u.k.	When I go to my mobile harddrive all my bb music has the windows media player icon. I know to right click the icon and choose OPEN WITH> browse, but which icon do I choose in the bb folder to get the file to open at biab. Also the Powertracks has the same problem, again which icon in PT please?

Rachael Expert R Joined: May 2007 Posts: 1,616	It doesn't make sense that WMP would hijack .mgu or .sgu files since it has no clue what those are. Now if you have wav, mp3, or wma it makes sense. I don't know what version of Windows or WMP you have. Look in your WMP Tools menu. There may be a screen to make the file associations. I would still doubt that the mgu or sgu files would be there though. R

jazzmammal Veteran Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 7,697 Redondo Beach, Ca.	Whatever version of Windows you have, just go to Windows help and type in "file associations" and read all about it. It's no big thing. What happened is somewhere along the line you installed some music related software and one of the check boxes that you overlooked was one that says something like "make Windows Media Player your default midi player?" and you either said yes or it was already checked and you didn't uncheck it. Easy to fix, though. When you find where to make that change, you will have a list of programs and make PT your default midi player. Bob Biab/RB latest build, Win 11 Pro, Ryzen 5 5600 G, 512 Gig SSD, 16 Gigs Ram, Steinberg UR22 MkII, Roland Sonic Cell, Kurzweil PC3, Hammond SK1, Korg PA3XPro, Garritan JABB, Hypercanvas, Sampletank 3, more.

Click on "Start" in your taskbar, then click on "help and support" then type in "file associations" and follow the instructions.
