Been trying to redo an old song so I could change the rhythm style. I load the SGU file into BIAB then I import an audio file that should line up with the chord changes. However, it doesn’t. The audio is out of sync with the chord changes. It’s a different "tempo". So, I export the audio and compare it to what I put in. The exported file is faster. One vocal phrase is 3.11 seconds IN and 2.75 seconds OUT
Are the files the same pitch? If not, and the difference is around one and a half steps, then I might suspect one used a sample rate of 44.1 and the other was 48K.
BIAB 2025 Win Audiophile. Software: Studio One 7 Pro, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6, Song Master Pro, Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Roland Integra-7, Presonus 192 & Faderport 8, Royer 121, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors.
Where is the audio file located? Is it in the same directory as the original SGU file? Does it have the same name as the SGU? The reason I ask is because it might be that the original audio and SGU combination were tempo-mapped to one another.
Alternatively, do you know what tempo the audio needs to be?
If it's a tempo issue and not a start time issue, I'd suggest going to the Audio pulldown menu, opening Set Audio Master (Base) Tempo and setting the audio tempo the same as the song tempo. If the audio tempo setting and the song tempo are not the same, BiaB will stretch the imported audio.

When a song is manually imported and sometimes when an audio file is automatically opened in a song, the audio needs to be synced with Bar one of the Chord Sheet.
To do this, open the Audio Edit Window and set the curser over Beat 1 of Bar 1 - Right Click and select the Mark this as Bar one option.
In the screenshot, it's demonstrated that the first bar may have lead-in notes so the very beginning of a song may not be the correct position of Bar 1
OK, I found a BIAB problem. I would appreciate someone verifying before I report it. Track Utility #1 in the attached screenshot is what I put into the song using File-Import- Import Audio. I then exported that track using Track Actions- Save Track As Wav File. I then imported that file to Utility#2. You can see that the U#2 audio is faster than what was exported from U#1. Note: The imported or exported file names do not match the song SGU name.
Looks like the imported file is being stretched. See my previous post, four up from this one, for how I resolved this problem with Noel's kind help and encouragement. IMHO BiaB should set the Base Tempo default to the song tempo. Otherwise, it's a mess...
As I recall, if you open the Base Tempo dialogue window with the audio track open, you can watch the audio track expand and contract as you change the value of the base tempo. If you recorded the imported audio track at the song tempo, just enter that value and you SHOULD be done.

After posting the previous, I realize I hadn't done what DC Ron suggested on setting the Audio Base tempo. I did that and this is a screenshot of the results. Same problem, but a little different timing.
Both of your imported audio are misaligned with where BIAB starts.
The audio tracks start at bar 5. BIAB has a two bar lead-in and instruments begin at bar 1. The audio tracks have 4 bars of silence before beginning which may be correct if there's intended to be 4 bars of BIAB instruments playing before the imported audio properly starts on bar 5.
That's fine if it's how it should be. Even if that's correct, by all appearances, Utility#2 is aligned with bar 5 and the original imported audio isn't. This suggests that syncing the original audio file may have been overlooked since visually the offset of the two tracks is roughly two bars. I note that the second imported audio file is aligned with bar 5 whereas the original imported file was not aligned with bar 5 and by visually estimating the sync disparity, It looks like the original imported audio was off by approximately the required two bar lead in BIAB applies to the project.
This could occur when the first audio file was originally imported, it was not synchronized as bar 1 of the audio file. BIAB starts at bar 1 regardless where the imported audio is to begin. It's common for vocals to begin after an instrumental intro. Perhaps the audio file is a vocal stem derived from a third party Stem Splitter program. It still must be properly aligned with BIAB to start at the proper BIAB bar, 1,5,9 or any bar.
There certainly may be tempo issues but there is a waveform issue of one audio track begins before the other at import. Any tempo issues will be obvious when the two audio files are both starting at whichever is the proper bar. Bar 1, which is correct for BIAB, or bar 5 if that's the right place for the audio track on this particular project.
This can be tested by opening Utility#1 in the Audio Edit Window and selecting the very beginning of the audio waveform, right clicking and marking the curser at bar 5 so the waveform beginning will align at bar 5 the same as Utlity#2 track and they should align in the Tracks View.
I finally got things working. I’d come up with this song over 10 years ago and there are many different versions on my computer. I think what happened is I used the SGU file for one version and the audio file for another version. Anyway, I ended up finding an SGU and audio file that dates matched and all is well now. Thanks for helping.
I am going to report the WAV import/export problems to PG Music, though. Also, I'll add 1 more to my "brain-bug-count".
