How do I delete a part of an audio track and have the section to the right move left to fill it in? Thought I’d done this before. However, if I use “Cut Riff”, it tells me “ there is no real tracks on this track”

Open the track using the Audio Edit Window. Highlight the area to delete. Hit the delete key once and the audio will be silenced - the audio will delete but the section to the right won't move to fill in the area. Hold the shift key down as you hit the delete key will delete the audio and move the section to the right filling in the deleted area. You can also use the Audio Edit Window Edit drop down menu.

... Hold the shift key down as you hit the delete key will delete the audio and move the section to the right filling in the deleted area Exactly. This is known as a "Ripple Delete" in the industry. Thanks Charlie for the explanation.

Eureka it works! Many thanks, Charlie, for the tip. And thanks to AudioTrack for using the term “ripple”. Initially I googled on my problem and the answer included the word ripple. I searched the BIAB manual for ripple and found nothing.😀
