Old MemoriesI've not had much time for music the past couple of weeks - Di's health issues. This is a three-hour effort from last night. I was going to add a different instrument for the 2nd verse, but just didn't have the time. So, you're stuck with three verses by a slack key acoustic guitar. Hopefully, you might like it a bit anyway. I kept the original band members from the style and added the slack key acoustic lead guitar and the two additional drum accents. Then I saved and mastered it. Will listen to all of you as I can. It'll probably be kind of spotty, but I'll get to as many posts as I can. Here's the list of the members and the other stuff: Title: Old Memories File:Old Memories.SGU Key=Cm , Tempo 85, Length (m:s)=3:34 Style is _BACKPAK.STY (Backpacker Cajon Ev-8 Folk Trio) RealTracks in style: 3121:Bass, Acoustic, PopHalfNotesPush Ev 085 RealTracks in style: 2916:Guitar, Acoustic, Rhythm CountryFolk8thsBrent Ev 085 RealTracks in style: 2916:Guitar, Acoustic, Rhythm CountryFolk8thsBrent Ev 085 RealTracks in song: 3700:Guitar, Acoustic, Soloist SlackKeyBallad Ev 085 RealDrums in Song: BossaBrushes RealDrums in Song: ShakerFolkEv16 RealDrums in style:CajonFolkSlow8ths: a: Cajon b: Cajon, Shaker

Al, this sounds great, as always. The lead guitar sounds very present, and the band is doing exactly what I imagine a real band should be doing. Effective thematic development and a very satisfying, relaxing feel. Nicely done! Take care...

Another beautiful instrumental... The guitars in this piece are excellent. Such a crisp and present mix.

I really like this. Laid back and easy going.
That acoustic lead guitar is very good. So natural sounding.

That acoustic lead guitar is very good. So natural sounding. Many thanks, Herb. Glad you liked it. I EQ'd some of the squeaks a bit but didn't take them out completely. I thought it left a natural, live feel. I appreciate your nice comments. Alan

I can hear Mark Knopfler singing to it - well done and the guitar soloist would be right up his alley. Enjoyed my listen ![[Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]](https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/images/icons/default/thumbs_up.gif)

Very pretty track. One of the Soundcloud tags was "sad", but I thought it sounded more like "hopeful", especially toward the end.

Hi Alan.
What an absolutely delightful listen. It was perfect for my somewhat overcast Melbourne morning. As always, your chord progression is your signature. The way you aurally and smoothly guide a listener along never stops impressing me. Listening to your creations always brings me a wonderful feeling of satisfaction. I loved the band you chose and I loved the music you created for it. Everything about this presentation fits perfectly and sits very comfortably on my psyche.
My best wishes to you and Di. --Noel

Alan, You truly mastered the art of arranging and BIAB. Your skills never fail to amaze. Very pleasant composition. Neat chord changes. I can hear a couple of tracks that I've used in the past, but in your hands they are taken to a whole new level. Mix is clear and listens very well. Thank you for sharing.
Misha.

Yes very mesmerizing indeed! You got a lot of good things done in 3 hours.
You certainly have a knack for finding a lot of soothing and calming real tracks.
I like the way you mixed and blended them!

Well done as always, Al.
Storytelling is one of my favourite parts of music and you managed to capture it well within this song.

Very pretty track. One of the Soundcloud tags was "sad", but I thought it sounded more like "hopeful", especially toward the end. Thanks, Mark. I appreciate the time to listen and comment. The overall mood reflects a young lady's remembrance of a lost love. The verses are supposed to reflect the difficult times, the chorus, the better times. But in general, just sad that the love is gone. Many thanks for the comments! Alan
