Lovesick Blue

A teenager's first love just broke up with them. They mope around until lovesick blue fades away and they find another love of their life.

This one was an unusual start for me. Instead of starting in BiaB, as most of my songs do, it started with a MIDI harp loop. I searched for a BiaB style to compliment it but I couldn't find one. I went to EZKeys2 and found a matching piano track. I played the violin track and thought something is missing. BiaB to the rescue with the perfect orchestra string track.

The harp is from a MIDI harp loop - Kontakt - patch - Glissando GCH
The piano is from EZKeys2 - patch - upright piano - southern comfort
The strings are from Band-in-a-Box - style -PSYK2 - Kontakt - patches - Amadeus - full string ensemble and solid state strings.

Via my breath and keyboard controllers I am playing the Swam violin and Bassoon.

All comments are welcomed.

My wife had her driving test today.
She got 8 out of 10.

Hi Mario.

This is a delightful listen.
I was completely captivated by your composition and its arrangement.
Your choice of instruments is superb, and your playing really sings while tugging at the heartstrings.
There is no denying that you really have a flair for fine music!

Mario, superb composition! Really nice playing, and completely representative of your theme. Those BiaB strings make a great transition to the next section. The soundscape is very vibrant and evocative of something within site but just out of reach. Very effective tune.

Mario,

A beautiful piece of music... The strings and violin are so effective. Love this.

Love the harp, and you use it so well here, Mario. Did ya ever listen to Andreas Vollenveider? You'd love it. Man, this is so cool and you always manage to somehow touch so many feel-good neurons that only respond to this language.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Nice feel to this one, Mario. I continue to me amazed and what you can do with that wind controller! Violin is cool, and I really like the bassoon.

Mario…you paint in pastels!! I’m always amazed at the soundscapes you create, and you’d never be musically type-cast, that’s for sure. Those mopey teens don’t deserve this quality of music!!

Thanx Ron I'm glad you liked it. BiaB is not only a complete song generator but it is also a great accompaniment for other sound generating software.

Thanx Dave. I'm still learning how to utilize the breath and keyboard controllers. So much to learn and so little time to learn it!

Thanx Marty. Yes I have heard of Andreas and in fact have 5 records/CDs. David Arkinstone is another one of my favorites. If you haven't heard of him you might want to check his music.

Thanx Tom. Years of playing in wedding bands has exposed me to many genres of music. That plus my ambient and new age records and CDs have helped.

I love the bassoon in this. I'm so surprised that I've never been able to find bassoon or oboe samples in BiaB as they're so soulful and I'd love to be using them in smome of my instrumentals.

Thanx Chay. If you are into MIDI those Swam Double Reeds are excellent and the most realistic emulations that I have found.

Man, your versatility knows no bounds!
"Meditative" and "relaxing" sounds so overused ... but it is both.
Your performances are always stellar and no exception here.
Violin AND bassoon, man!
We just kicked the chairs back and let the monitors show off the soundstage you created.

Great!
