I am getting quite frustrated! Since I upgraded to BIAB 2025, I replaced my entire PC system, including going from W10 to W11. Lots of things got screwed up. Now I can't get my MIDI keyboard to sync up with RB. When I play along on my kybd as my tracks are playing, it works fine. But when I go into record mode and do the same thing, I wind up with notes being "late" off the beat, and, in PIANO ROLL view, I can see that they, indeed, landed late.
I've tried to fool around with the latency adjust, but that doesn't seem to do anything. I'm not sure where to look, but it seems like I'm probably missing some basic thing that needs to be switched some way.
Is there anyone on this forum who might be willing to help me with some problem-solving steps to ID the problem?
Thanks!

shot in the dark... make sure your rb preferences mirror the prefernces in the previous version of rb you were useing.
sometime read my tips in pg tips forum re optimising a new pc for music production...whats your sound interface ?? whats your midi signal flow into rb ?? gear used etc. also helpfull would be to know your settings etc.
more info the better re your setup so proper solutions can be suggested.

For midi input I'm using an M-Audio Oxygen 49 (3rd generation) keyboard, midi connect via USB into my PC. Now that I'm researching it, it could be that the keybd HW is too old and not supported under Win11. I'll bet that's the problem. Damn that Microsoft!!

Tom, I doubt that your keyboard is the problem. Since you are plugging it into your computer I assume that you are using the on board RealTek audio interface. Exactly what are your interface settings. What is running in the background? Your problem sounds like either a latency or an interference problem.

Just getting back to this now...that's right, changing out the kybd didn't accomplish anything. Here's what I know: --I dont' have the latency problem in BIAB, only in RB --it seems like using ASIO4All v2 is the only Audio Driver choice that I can get to work (MME and Windows Audio are the other options) --When I open RealBand, or switch the Audio Driver to ASIO, or load a new file, I get a series of about 5 bleeps in my headphone Mario, when you say "interface settings" what exactly are you asking about? settings in the driver control panel? I'm going to shut down my browser to see if that makes a difference. Come back on the next message.

Tom, I don't use Realtrek so I am not sure exactly how to set it up for recording. However under settings/sound there are a number of options available. The first one has to do with inputs. I would check each and every option available in all categories. Again I don't use RealBand but make sure that your RB audio and MIDI settings are identical to Realtrek. Since you can correctly record in BiaB I suspect the problem is with RB.
To be honest the best thing you could do is to invest in an external audio interface. In all probability the drivers in an external audio interface would easily solve the problem. I know in my old Win 10 system many times I have to change the driver settings to get correct MIDI recordings; that happens with a lot of MIDI tracks and effects.
I hope this helps and good luck.

That sounds incredibly frustrating, especially after a major system upgrade. This is a classic driver/configuration issue with W11. First, make sure you've installed the specific driver for your MIDI keyboard from the manufacturer's website, not just the generic Windows one. Then, inside BIAB, go into Preferences > Audio Setup and run the "Latency Adjustment" wizard again—but this time, also check your "Audio Buffer Size" and try lowering it. A setting that worked on W10 might be too high for W11.

Or ... Turn on the metronome
RB has a MIDI bug unless the metronome is on. You can mute it, but it has to be on.
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome Make your sound your own!
