Chloe! Chloe!
An old school video featuring Janice shot with my iPhone and a few public domain clips added. We sought out locations that we hope support the dark lyrics until the last uplifting hopeful verse. Admittedly there are, unlike most vids, no short multiple clip changes, etc. Why? Well, Janice enjoys “play acting” the few vids we create and it’s all just for fun.

I (Bud) am biased to max but I think the girl’s looking fine at 67 with almost no grey hair. 😀 Hey, there’s even a glance of Peter and his Les Paul. So even if you are not fond of music vids we still hope you might find it of some interest. Thank you for your time and comments are always welcome.

Song info (recap of audio post):
We (Janice, Bud & Peter) found an interesting image of a piece of 1920’s public domain sheet music. The lyric was hugely different from the typical 1920’s blues/jazz of the era, i.e, not a “mama misses you papa, please come home” thing.😀 Rather it was dark and moody. It’s been very rarely recorded with a vocal and most often as a bouncy 1920’s jazz instrumental. So with big help from Peter we put together an arrangement using two keys, a Janice melody and some lyric tweaking.

Janice: lead and BGVs > RODE NT1 > Scarlett interface > Izotope Nectar (reverb, delay, light compression)
Peter: solo and fills guitar > whatever he does
Bud: mix, mastering, etc.
Piano: MIDI SuperTrack 2845 > Logic Pro Studio Grand > Ozone 11 imager > Waves CLA Unplugged
Guitar Rhythm: RealTrack 565 > Logic Pro EQ > Waves Magma BB T
Bass: RealTrack 534 > Izotope
RX De-click > Waves Bass Rider > Logic
ChromaGlow
Drums: RealDrums PopRockShuffle > Waves CLA Drums
Snare: (from above kit) > Waves Magma BB T > Ozone Impact > Neutron > Logic ChromaVerb
Cymbals: (from above kit)
Wind: Pixabay royalty free

Mastering via reference song and tweaking: Ozone modules EQ > Stabilizer >
Impact > Imager > Dynamic EQ > Maximizer > Izotope Tonal Balance > Logic Loudness Meter

WOW! This is fantastic! Peter slays the guitar track as Janice just wraps the listener into her nearly hypnotic, convincing voice. And the mix - well, the existing superlatives fall short of description.

And yep, Janice gives 67 a real nice look. She's a lot prettier than you, Bud!

I can't find any more words to say to describe this great work- all that come to mind are insufficient.

I forgot to mention, I really like the song and the performance.

Janice & Bud,

Now that is awesome! It's so great to see Janice perform the song in this setting. Another excellent vocal. Love the music and video production. As always Peter sounds great. I know how difficult these videos can be to make - you both made it look easy & seamless.

Outstanding!

Love everything about this. Janice's lead vocals and Peter's guitar are obviously and rightfully the stars, but the attention to detail is a lot of fun, too. The BGVs are crisp with a cool stereo image and placed perfectly in the mix. The two(!) guitar solos take different approaches but crush it each time. The video follows the lyrics in subtle and not so subtle ways that work perfectly. The overall mix pro quality. But, most of all I just love Janice's dramatic touches and wardrobe changes. A most enjoyable video!

Thank you Al. It was fun seeking out locations and shooting the scenes. It does get a bit tedious when it’s all gotta be sorted out in the vid editor. 😀

Glad you liked it!

Janice, Bud, and Peter, this is so fantastic I don't know where to start complimenting you on it.
Janice's vocal is, as always, outstanding.
Peter's guitar leads are outstanding, as always.
Bud's production skills could be used in Hollywood.
The video was fantastic. IMHO if it was in black and white it might have fit the song better, but what do I know.
Loved it.

PS - I dyed my hair gray to look more mature - I doesn't help.
And one more thing, you guys down there have the accent, not us New Yorkers!

It's quite nice to see the faces of the Forum musicians. Thanks for this great song and the video. When you no longer need the Les Paul, I'd be happy to take it off your hands (humor).

Great vintage song! Everything about it is excellent: vocals, lyrics, production, etc, etc, plus I love those guitar solos.

Oh Janice, I just love your soulful singing. So refreshing to hear so good old rhythm & blues! Best song here for a while meeting my taste. Some of my favourite musicians, like Tony White and Dan Penn, have the same sound and soul then your fine music.

This is outstanding

The vocal is off the charts and Peter's guitar work is legendary.

As I was listening it occurred to me that I don't think I have heard a current female Nashville country star ever put in the bleachers quite like Janice just did. Row 65 Triple Z.

Very Linda Rondstadt level.

Stunning.

Great production too Bud.

The slow cuts really let her “play act” shine, and that quick glimpse of Peter on his Les Paul was a sweet surprise.

Good point. Come to think of it, I could hear Linda Rondstadt delivering this.

[HAHA!! Good one, Audio Track!!] You guys know I love this --heck you'd know I'd love your version way before your recorded it. Speaking of which, Bud, you are truyly the master of the mastering process. Dang, everytime I hear Peter he is playing the perfect lines with perfect taste and technique. Janice, yeah, she can defintiely bring down any house as easily as Ella could break a glass.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Thank you Bob for the positive review and your continued support. The vids are fun but they can get a bit tedious with the lip syncing. 😀

Wow! That covered all the goals we could have hoped to accomplish and is hugely appreciated.

Thank you for mentioning the relationship of the locations to the verses. And regarding the wardrobe the cape used in the opening and closing verses was a gift from Janice’s sister. Had to get it in there!😀

Thanks again!

202 New RealTracks Released with Band-in-a-Box 2026!

With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!

Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!

Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.

Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.

Check out all the 202 new RealTracks (in sets 468-488)!

And, if you are looking for more, the 2026 49-PAK (for $49) includes an impressive collection of 20 bonus RealTracks, featuring exciting and inspiring additions to add to your RealTracks library. There are also new indie-folk styles with guitar, bass, 6-string bass used as a high-chording instrument, acoustic guitar, and banjo. Plus, dedicated "cymbal fills" RealDrums provide an added layer that work very well with low-key folky styles with other percussion.
