I have a set of Band in a Box songs from a Fake Book called 'Gospels Greatest'. I do believe I got the songs as well as the fake book from Norton Music. But that was a long time ago and I don't really recall if both came together. Anyway, the problem I am experienceing is that some of the songs are loading the ZZJAZZ.STY style. I think this is the default syle if the requested still can't be found.
The requested style is #BLUEJEAN.STY.
I've search all my folders and no such file exists. However, in the old nortons archive I found a file called '#bluejean.sgu', all lowercase. I don't think the case of the text is relevant but I wonder what the '.sgu' extension is? I can't find any reference in the BB manual. I tried simply renaming the extensionj '.STY', but this is not a valid style for BB.
Can anybody help please?

There is a description somewhere of all the extensions used by BIAB. There used to be many more that were common but now it’s mainly SGU and MGU. SGU is a BIAB song with no melody. Once you add a melody and save it, you get another file with the same name but the extension MGU. Neither is a style file.
BIAB 2025 Win Audiophile. Software: Studio One 7 Pro, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6, Song Master Pro, Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Roland Integra-7, Presonus 192 & Faderport 8, Royer 121, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors.

I got banned from Weight Watchers for dropping a bag of M&Ms on the floor. It was the best game of Hungry Hippos I've ever seen!

... The requested style is #BLUEJEAN.STY. BIAB style names are (and I believe have always been) limited to a maximum of 8 characters (I think that this gets back to the really old DOS 8.3 days), so I doubt if '#BLUEJEAN' is the actual name of the BIAB style. I would contact Bob at Norton Music and reference this thread. I'm sure he can assist. https://www.nortonmusic.com/

Hi Jonel
With any luck 'Notes' will be along shortly with a definitive answer. The '#' suggests it's a Norton style.
I've just seen AudioTracks answer which I'm pretty sure is correct. Maaybe they're #blujean
I suspect #bluejean.sgu in a demo of the style. Whatever, .sgu is a song not a style.
Probably the first thing to try is to rebuild the styles list "slow". The default "fast" rebuild doesn't, I believe, look for non-PGM styles.
I think the locations of installs may have changed through the years, so don't trust the following explicitely. Be prepared to look elsewhere.
I think on my setup, all of the Norton styles are in the /bb/Styles folder, so I suspect that's where you should find them. The fake book songs are in C:/bb/Norton_Music_Fake_Disks/ then the fake book name.
Ah, right, I just searched for a Norton style I do have (#3latin1) and found these, which may give some clues: "C:\bb\Demos\MIDI Style Demos\Misc\#3latin1.sgu" "C:\bb\Styles\#3latin1.sty"
Norton files come now as downloaded .zip files with names like "Fake_37_PC.zip" and "Style_27_PC.zip".
HTH.

The requested style is #BLUEJEAN.STY. We don't have a style by that exact name (or as someone mentioned possibly #BLUJEAN.STY), however we do have _BLUJEAN.STY - Blue Jeans Country Pop Blues, from RealTracks Set 369. BIAB style names are (and I believe have always been) limited to a maximum of 8 characters (I think that this gets back to the really old DOS 8.3 days), so I doubt if '#BLUEJEAN' is the actual name of the BIAB style. Correct - the 8.3 format is still a limitation in current versions, and third party styles are required to follow that format too.

I’ve run into the same thing before. .sgu files are actually song files, not style files. That's why just renaming it didn’t work.

Thanks everybody for the very helpful comments and suggestions.
I did make the terrible mistake of stating the missing style as #bluejean rather tha #blujean.
However, it was the #blujean that was not showing up.
I have been caught by a problem that I had clarified some time ago. This was that all style must be directly in the Style folder. In my case the norton styles were in a subfolder of styles. I hate the idea of mixing styles other than the standard PG styles directly in the Styles folder, it seems such a messy way to mange styles. Anyway, I have copied the files in into the style folder and rebuilt the styles and its there now.
One other thing that popped up when I was trying all this stuff out was the rebuilding of the song list. I don't understand why there is no rebuild button for the songpicker. I had to resort to deleting the existing list in order to force a request to rebuild the song list.

Yes, there used to be, but now the songpicker is selected through the MultiPicker library, there are no controls at the bottom of the page. I can't see how to change the SongPicker default action to select the SongPicker.

I can't see how to change the SongPicker default action to select the SongPicker. This is one of those issues where the Multi picker still doesn't have all of the functions. Open the original Song Picker like this: ![[Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]](https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=download&Number=30652&filename=2025-04-29_23-13-12.jpg) or like this, depending on your screen layout: ![[Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]](https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=download&Number=30653&filename=2025-04-29_23-12-26.jpg)

Thank you.The strange this is that it now works that way all the time, even in the MultiPicker. There doesnt seem to be a MultiPicker choice in the default action options. Anyway, this is what is most useful.
