Hi Forum Friends,

Real Band has been giving me lots of error messages lately, usually in multiples. I elect to save them to a log, however, I can't find the log even when I do an index search. Where the heck is it hiding so I can upload it here?

Not sure what's going on, as it never gave me problems before. However, I can think of several things that have recently changed. 1) I upgraded to 2025 2) I upgraded to Windows 11 3) I added a plug in called Waves Vocal Rider.

Help me find the error log, please, so I can stop this from happening. Thanks!

Under the Help menu, there is a command to show the log file.

The file's path is \RealBand\Data\FlashMessageLog.txt

Inasmuch as I understand this information, it seems to say that you ran Realband 2024 build 5 on April 15 at 10:34 a.m.

Is your log file correct? When I read your original post, it sounded like the problem Realband 2024 was fine and 2025 was the one causing problems.

P.S. Also, because the log file is simply a text file, it's possible to copy the text and paste it directly in a the forum (as you have done). It's not necessary to save it as a jpg. Andrew and Jeff from PG Music willl see your information in this thread.

I assume the log file is correct. I probably just associated the problem in my mind with 2025. And if it is the case the problem was also in 2024, then it won't be the fault of the plugin either, as I added that on April 29th. And I changed to Windows 11 just recently.

When you installed Realband 2025, did you install it over the top of your previous version of Realband? It would be worth starting up Realband and then having a look at "About Realband" under the Help menu. This will tell you want version and what build you have started.

It says I have 2025 installed. Honestly, I don't remember what I did when I upgraded.

I'm confused as to why the flash messages say version 2024 in the information that you pasted and posted, while the 'About Realband' says 2025. This is strange.

When you next start Realband...
• go to Help
• click on the "Show log text file and flash messages"
• a yellow box will appear on the upper right of the monitor
• this box will contain the path of where the Realband 2025 log is filed.

It would be worth checking if the path is different from the one that I gave you above.

FWIW you should also have an RBERROR.LOG file in your Realband folder that shows more technical messages related to RB internal errors.
It may be worth checking/posting that as well

Yes, that was what I wanted to post, but when I search for the file, I get "no file matches". That was my original question. Where do I find that file? I'm thinking now the problem might be related to having configured BIAB and Readband on my computer while leaving all the realtracks on the drive...maybe??

did you actually install BB & RB on the computer?

As for finding the file, I just sort the Name column and find the file mentioned above.
If you find it, note it's date

Okay, found that on my C drive (not the PG drive). There are earliest errors from 2024 and the most recent from 2025 with pages removed to keep things short...especially as I imgaine I will need to uninstall everything and start again. Anything I need to know ... other than backing up my songs? PS: It's weird that it says Windows 8 in places. I've never operated on Windows 8.

Possibly of no help, but it sounds like you may not have overwritten RB 2024 when you installed BiaB 2025 (presumably with RB 2025). If so, you MAY need only find RB 2025. I usually let the installer add shortcuts to my screen for each upgrade, so that's where I'd look.

Have you tried uninstalling that (just use the Exclude Plugin) to see if the errors go away?
I've had plugins that do not 'play nice with others' before ..
