Hey all,

I wrote, created and produced this song using all Band In A Box instrumentation. I have BIAB 2025. I mixed the song within GarageBand and mastered with Landr Mastering. It's quite different to what I usually write as I come from a Country Rock background and wanted to try something new. People who have listened to the track say it has a 90's vibe. I hope you like it

https://soundcloud.com/sabrinamariamusic/i-am-free

1st verse I close my eyes and start to breathe
I’m lost in this feelin’
Forgetting time, just let myself be
I’m one with the universe

Chorus I Am, I Am Free
All it takes is to truly believe

2nd verse Now for the first time I can see
My happy ending
There’s nothing that I cannot be
This love is transcending

Chorus I Am, I Am Free
All it takes is to truly believe

Post-chorus All my dreams are coming true
Couldn’t live a day without soul food

3rd verse The past is nowhere to be seen
Coz now is all I need
I choose hope instead of fear
Let go of all that doesn’t serve me

Chorus I Am, I Am Free
All it takes is to truly believe

Post-chorus All my dreams are coming true
Couldn’t live a day without soul food
All my dreams are coming true
Couldn’t live a day without soul food

Chorus I Am, I Am Free, so free
All it takes is to truly believe

Hi Sabrina! The synth pop is a welcome difference for this showcase forum. I think the long held vocal notes over the rhythmic backing works as a great contrast. Your vocal has a ‘Madonna’ feel to it (a compliment) which also adds to the 90s feel

I also listened to ‘Invisible’ on your Soundcloud - really good backing vocal and harmonies!

This is Cool. The best example of this genre I've heard in the showcase yet. Of course we don't seem to get a lot of synth pop dance music.

I'd love to hear some of your country rock. However, you should probably consider writing more of this too.

Nicely done.

Really excellent production all around, Sabrina. Love your vocals, plus I totally relate to the spirit of the lyrics. If this is your first ever post here it's exceptional and I look forward to hearing more.

Very good song, Sabrina, and the vocals are the best. I like the fullness of the subtle harmony. In the 90s I was still playing the 60s, but you have defintitely captured that sound and made it your own.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Hey Sabrina,

I really like this. It's a very fun song. A nice thing to listen to in the morning to get you all pumped up for the day!

I would say it sounds more '80s than '90s.

Even more specifically it sounds like early Madonna, circa 1985 right around the time of the Live Aid concert, when she still had black hair and came out singing Holiday.

Now I say this as a great compliment because there is no greater era that I can think of for cool pop songs than that particular era.

People often argue about who was coolest in that concert by the way. Some say it was Queen. Some say it was Sting.

I'm not so sure about that though.

When I watch the film I see that there's pretty much everybody else and then there's Bono.

P S. That drama Pop style is great. I'm going to use that for something somewhere down the road I'm sure.

Great tune, Sabrina! Love your vocals and overall vocal arrangement with those BGVs. That's a cool FX chain on the lead vocals, too. Great band choice, too. Plenty of thump but lots of space for the vocals. Great job!

Sabrina, I got an 80's vibe on this song, i.e. Madonna type.
An outstanding synth pop song.
Great vocal, super groove, and an excellent mix.
An outstanding song.

Hi GuitarHacker,

My Country Rock music was recorded in a studio and I can't quite get the sound to match that quality with BIAB. If I do write that style again, I shall post on here. Thank you!
