I am seeking an experienced player to help me learn the features of Band in a Box. I am older and a guitar player. I live in Orlando, Fl am willing to travel and pay for instruction. If you want to travel to Orlando thats fine and teach me here. Will pay someone cash for their time, was hoping for at least 2 days of instruction.
The online tutorials are not helping me and i need someone patient.
Band in a box staff suggested i post this on the forums and they do not offer training as a service of the company

I believe Joanne Cooper on this list offers instruction. Try Henry Clarke's Videos on YouTube: BiaB tutorials.
Jazz relative beginner, starting at a much older age than was helpful.

Can I make a suggestion? Best to figure out exactly what you think BIAB can do for you and source someone to help you with that. Better still ask on the forum first. Many use BIAB in very specific ways. Others just scrape the surface. I used it to make backing tracks and originally I used it to send midi commands to my gear. Then I used it for basic songwriting - as I'm a beginner in that area. You may also find that there are other products that do exactly what you need that don't require a massive learning curve - and it is massive. Then BIAB can remain just a fun product to explore and enjoy.

There are often numerous ways to do this lot of stuff. For example, If you want to make backing tracks there are a lot of folks who do that. But some of us who make backing tracks do NOT use midi. I am one of those people. There are others who ONLY use midi. Then there are even others who use both… Children of Satan…. Or perhaps Santa. Point is, there’s a lot BIAB can do and the idea of learning everything that’s possible seems overwhelming and I’ve been using for over 30 years. This elephant will not be eaten in one bite. Band in a box staff suggested i post this on the forums and they do not offer training as a service of the company My suggestion is to figure out exactly how you want to use the program. What level of musical training, education, skill, do you currently possess? Do you understand some theory? Start in the support page looking at the videos and just start in the beginner level section. They are pretty self-explanatory and you can stop and rewind and pause as often as you need. Ask specific, well defined, questions in the proper forum and you will get some people who can answer your questions. You can also chat with the BB/PG staff and they are quite helpful too. Just dig in and explore. You learn fastest by doing it yourself to see what works and what doesn't. You can also listen to the songs people are doing in the SHOWCASE and ask them specific questions about how they do certain things you heard in that song. Welcome.... remember, it will take you some time so be patient and keep working on it.
