I own Band in a Box 2020 "Ultra pack" version. If I upgrade to the new 2025 "Pro pack" (a lesser version) I guess I will lose the additional content that came with the 2020 "Ultra pack". Is there a way where I can combine the new features of Pro 2025 and keep the extra content of my 2020 Ultra pack install?

That is correct; you will update the program and not lose any sound content you already have.
BIAB 2025 Win Audiophile. Software: Studio One 7 Pro, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6, Song Master Pro, Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Presonus 192 & Faderport 8, Royer 121, Slate VSX, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors.

If it is just the new 2025 "features" you want you can just purchase the 2025 version (no new content but all the new features). I don't see the reason to buy the Pro Pack if you have the prior Ultra pack. Opps, I just checked, looks like that option is no longer available. Nevermind.

As long as you install 2025 on top of 2020 it will keep all of the older content. Simple as that! No, you absolutely won't lose anything you've already purchased — it will adapt naturally. I wouldn't put it that way. If you install any 2025 version over the 2020 UltraPAK, then the 2025 version would be able to use the styles and Realtracks from the UltraPAK. If you only install the 2025 Pro version then it will not have the UltraPAK content. You won't lose any content, however it requires steps to keep it. If it is just the new 2025 "features" you want you can just purchase the 2025 version (no new content but all the new features). I don't see the reason to buy the Pro Pack if you have the prior Ultra pack. The "program only" update you're talking about will only work if upgrading from a 2024 version. As Rick has a 2020 version it will not work - however the Pro upgrade will work. The Pro upgrade will also include at least some new content.

What Simon highlighted is definitely the best way to go about it if you decide you want to simply go with the Pro this time around, but it is good to keep in mind that since your last UltraPAK was 2020 that you will have some gaps in the RealTracks content that has been released from 2021. If you don't want to miss out on the bulk of those RealTracks then the UltraPAK 2025 upgrade is the better option.
Cheers, Ember

I am assuming that when the 2025 Pro version is installed over the 2020 UltraPak, all RealTracks will be indexed and selectable, and all the ‘missing’ (not purchased) RealTracks, RealDrums and styles will show up in the What Add-ons Do I (Not) Have.

The 2025 UltraPAK would include over 1000 more RealTracks and Styles, which could be well worth it to you. The Pro version by comparison would include only a small handful of new content. I am assuming that when the 2025 Pro version is installed over the 2020 UltraPak, all RealTracks will be indexed and selectable, and all the ‘missing’ (not purchased) RealTracks, RealDrums and styles will show up in the What Add-ons Do I (Not) Have. then why call it "pro" when youre fully aware that youre giving some watered down crap? when you upgrade, youre not even really seeing what just got upgraded. they tell you "you just got such and such more real tracks" however they are not dated as recently downloaded. they are dated when they were created by the company. So they just disappear. AND they will likely be NONE of the ones that you wanted in the first place.
No company would call this their "pro" version.
this program has only 2 versions, thusly. Ultra pak or Audio filez.
the rests are always going to be missing a crapload of things, and as PG music keeps adding styles, that YOU DONT have, you will see more and more Demos being played at you that you DONT own.
I purchased the ones where they had vocals, AND GUESS WHAT? Now I dont have that. I ordered a bunch of eazy going slow jazz. Guess what? NOW I dont have that.
tthis program is like its ALWAYS in friggin "demo" mode.

then why call it "pro" when youre fully aware that youre giving some watered down ... As you'll probably realise, a great many of us have said similar over the years. I presume PGM's thinking is that 'Pro' applies to the software and everything else is add-on styles/sounds. Then it's logical in a way, but I continue to feel that annoying ones customers is not a great business philosophy. One must remember, though, that part of the cost of the add-ons comes from paying the musicians who create the content. And there's a lot of content. Before I first started with PGM products, I found the plethora of packages, combinations, names, prices and option totally confusing. Well, I still do in part. That's also the case with many other music software companies. The obfuscation often makes me feel me like we're being deliberately gaslit by some vendors. In practice, PGM seem generally pretty straight with their customers, though also sometimes seriously frustrating.

... though there's also the UltraPAK+ and the OmniPAK.
Some of the upper packs include some of the Add-Ons, but my limited patience usually goes before I get to work out which are where and when.

I purchased the ones where they had vocals, AND GUESS WHAT? Now I dont have that. I ordered a bunch of eazy going slow jazz. Guess what? NOW I dont have that. That shouldn't be the case - if you've purchased ANY previous content, whether from an UltraPAK/Audiophile or à la carte, it will remain usable as long as it's installed. Newer versions of BIAB will never lock you out of content you've purchased. From the sounds of it, the vocals and slow jazz are simply not installed - did you reinstall BB recently? I presume PGM's thinking is that 'Pro' applies to the software and everything else is add-on styles/sounds. I believe that was the idea, but as I wasn't around when it was created I couldn't say for sure. One must remember, though, that part of the cost of the add-ons comes from paying the musicians who create the content. And there's a lot of content. Yep, and as some of our musicians are rather well known, they tend to come with an appropriate price tag. ... though there's also the UltraPAK+ and the OmniPAK.
Some of the upper packs include some of the Add-Ons, but my limited patience usually goes before I get to work out which are where and when. OmniPAK is the only one that includes all of the add-on style PAKs. The UltraPAK+ is exactly the same as the UltraPAK, but the + includes the Songs & Lessons PAK.

If you are always making sure to install over your existing version—especially if you started off with a larger package type and chose to go with one of the smaller packages—you wouldn't lose anything you had before. If something appears to be missing and you're positive you have that content, then there are several things we can check in order to ensure that what you're supposed to have is still there. If you're having this issue I'd recommend reaching out to support@pgmusic.com so we can go over your account info and purchase history together and see if we can isolate the issue.
Cheers, Ember

One thing I do is keep the install files for all the ‘extras’ I purchase. If I ever had to reinstall BIAB from scratch, I could duplicate all my content.

Yah, I do something really similar with all my important files, but that's a good tip in general, especially when using something that has optional yearly upgrades and add-ons. Not only is a backup always a good idea to have, but it also serves as a sort of quick reference for the names of the content you already own.
