Christiane Spruit (Chris) wrote the lyrics and did the video for this one. From Chris: City of Dreams is a thoughtful and atmospheric ballad about longing, transience, and the quest for a safe place. The song describes a metaphorical city of dreams, a journey to final rest, a return to the beginning, and transience on earth.Audio only link for those that don't like videos: City of Dreams The Band:3672:Piano, Acoustic, Rhythm NewAgeSlowBluesy Sw 060 3356:Guitar, Baritone Electric, Rhythm Moody128Brent Sw 060 Drums: EZDrummer3 Marty Straub (BabuMusic) on bass guitar (check out his playing during the vamp out ) I'm playing the lead guitar and the rhythm guitar panned left, and also did a BGV. Mixed in Reaper using plugins from Izotope and Waves, also some native plugins. Mastered with Ozone 11. City of dreams (2025, Chris Spruit)City of dreams where can I find you this way has been long to get there in time seasons are changing in their longing to last but our time here is running way too fast
Mountains of silence rise in my way night drapes the skyline with ashes and Grey
I am just a shadow on the Edge of the light Walking through memories that slip out of sight Looking for shelter a place to hide Before the Ferryman takes me to the other side
City of dreams Your horses and fortress defiantly defend the dividing line
I am just a shadow at the edge of a fight a storm is getting closer I can feel it inside I'm looking for shelter, a place to retreat to lay my body down to a fading Memory of me
Will someone remember the words that I Chose The Flowers I planted, the doors that I closed Seasons are shifting I am in no fear of the night But it's time for the nightguards to blow out the lightAll comments welcome!

Dave, slinky, smokey vibe. Love the main guitar riff and the always-so-cool tone. Superb vocals, too. Clear-as-a-bell mix pulls the whole thing together. Something this fine could never make me blue.

Great stuff, no surprise there. I love how Chris adds color to her vocal. And you do the same on guitar. What a tandem! Lyrics are good - I like the imagery. Another winner from Blue Attitude!

Dave, Christiane, and Marty, I don't have the vocabulary to describe how fantastic this masterpiece is. Christiane vocal is outstanding. Dave's repeating guitar is mesmerizing is a very good way. Marty's bass is always spot on. You have published some outstanding music before but IMHO this is your best to date. Loved it.

Super production, first class vocals and guitar - Christine is a truly class act - though I missed it not having a soaring solo!

Echo all the positive comments…I esp liked the sparse opening statement that repeated throughout..the whole arrangement really allowed the vocal performance to take center stage and shine…great work!

Dave, every song you write sticks in my head. That's a special talent. Speaking of talent, it's always such a treat when Chis writes the lyrics and comes up with amazing vocals and melodies. Love this song. Well written and an outstanding productoin.

You three are already great individually, but man, this song shows that as a band you are more than the sum of your parts. Great and tasteful guitars, I love Marty's bass is going, and one of the best performances by Chris I've heard so far. Perfect mix. Perfect everything ![[Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]](https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/images/icons/default/thumbs_up.gif)

Another treat from the terrific trio. When you three get together, its magic. What's not to like about this recording. Tell Chris I especially like the last five lines of the lyric. Fantastic.

Super production, first class vocals and guitar - Christine is a truly class act - though I missed it not having a soaring solo! Thanks for the nice review! Yes, Chris is an amazing lyricist and singer in my book. As far as the solo goes, of course I love playing solos, but I try and do what's right for the song. Adding a solo to a song of this tempo would have made the song too long for most people, and I thought the bit at the end with Chris doing the vamp was more important. Echo all the positive comments…I esp liked the sparse opening statement that repeated throughout..the whole arrangement really allowed the vocal performance to take center stage and shine…great work! Appreciate that, Tom!

MAN! Y'all make Good Music!!!
Chris is in top form (isn't she always?). She can Write Rock. She can Sing Rock. Love when she lets loose...
Marty sounds so good I had to immediately replay the song because almost from the beginning, that perfect bass sound caught my ear - and would not let it go. I heard nothing else. Mesmerizing. I did not need to be told to pay attention.
Very nice guitar work, Dave. Cool theme. Cool restraint. Cool guitar guy...
So. Fine.

I really enjoyed the dark and profound lyrics, "I am just a shadow on the Edge of the light/Walking through memories that slip out of sight" - I can really FEEL with shiverings the atmosphere of this journey through time and places. Amazing storytelling.
Great band and enjoyable mix. Dave knows how to use the Force to get the best out of his "lightsaber". Marty knows the magic how to live blues through his solid bass. Chris's voice is the star of Life in Blue Attitude's unique universe, full of light, warmth and energy.
The climax of the song when Dave's riff continues and Chris sings above it with more passion and power is really captivating.
