Does anyone know why PG isn't selling The Garritan Jazz & Big Band Collection right now?
I see on the Garritan website that it's shipping. I thought maybe there was a compatibility issue or something.

they are going to update it with the Aria soon like they have with the GPO maybe this has something to do with it

Hi Russel, Aria is the new Garritan Jazz and Big Band player and GPO is the Garritan Personal Orchestra. I have both and they are very good sounding softsynths. You can check them out here and here

Can you use Garritan as styles like we have with BIAB or do they have their own songs?

Garritan is another software synthesizer that you would use as a sound source just like any other synth. The Aria is their new software player that's used to select the instruments and make tweaks to the sound. The Aria player is what you would see in Biab's VSTi plugin window.
Your question kind of implies your new at this but it's a forum so forgive me if that's wrong. For a variety of reasons I won't go into here, it's not for a new, casual user of Biab unless you have a lot of experience in digital audio already, just new to Biab. It sounds great and will certainly work but it's not like all you have to do is select a song in Biab and hit play. You have to do some set up first for each song and learn how to tweak each instrument for the best sound. It's well worth looking into if you want to take a step up in complexity and cost.

Just remember that the demo's you hear are the result of lots of tweaking by professionals - the sounds out of the box are good but there is a high degree of work that goes into getting the live or real feel they achieve

Or you can use the "Phrase Modeled Performance Multi" that automates the tweaking Brian refers to giving you out of the box realism
