The Mysterious Tunnel

The Verwell Isle is a place of magic and mystery. In the town of Orrinshire there is a generational tale about a tunnel that can magically appear at any time, however no one has seen it. Tradition says certain conditions must be in place for it to appear. When it does a voice will come calling, getting louder as one gets closer, pulling one into the tunnel. But be aware of the fact that those whom enter the tunnel never return.

You are walking on a path in the Tollymore Forest, just outside of Orrinshire, playing your guitar, and making noise as your feet crush grass and twigs. Are these the right conditions? You have to listen to find out.

The bass and nylon guitar are from BiaB style Prophet New Age.
Tempo 30 to 400 BPM

Footsteps and whisper are audio loops.

Everything else is me using sounds from EastWest's Fantasy Orchestra.

As always all comments are welcomed.

마치 비개인후 숲속을 걷는듯한 아름다운 음악입니다
아닐수도 있지만 켈트음악의 느낌도 나고 프로그레시브한게 매우 좋았습니다
감사합니다

I enjoyed it.
It's beautiful music, like walking through a forest after the rain.
It might not be the same, but it has a Celtic feel to it, and I really liked the progressive vibe.
Thank you.

Mario,
Mysterious indeed! Very ethereal, and creepy! I hope I don't hear that voice at 3AM this morning!

So committed was I to the concept of the song that I went searching Google Maps ... the tunnel had disappeared.

Well done.

PS Good to see you're putting the EastWest Fantasy Orchestra to good use - money well spent!

Mario,

What a mood this creates... This one should be part of a movie score. You are so creative.

Loved it!

Thanx Andrew. I also hope you don't hear that voice at 3AM. Searching for Verwell Isle on Google Maps is like searching for Gilligan's island shocked grin
I'm glad that you liked it.

Thanx Bob. I try to make my music create moods as they are instrumentals, i.e. no lyrics to guide you.
I'm glad that you liked it.

I think we used to call this program music. With dded ASMR content.
Effective but the ASMR elements began to bug me after a while...I loved what was going on otherwise.

Cheers

Mario, hypnotic and cool. Nice narrative setup, and expertly executed. Love the swirling soundscape. The ominous voiceover near the end is an interesting twist. You always surprise me, and in good ways! smile

Nice soundscape, Mario, a good listen. Liked the voice at the end and the pan on the footsteps, very effective through the 'phones.

Thanx Ray. I had to look up ASMR as I have never heard of it before. Thanx for bringing that up as reviews like this is how I learn.

Thanx Dave. Yes this song was made for headphones and I'm glad you commented on the panning.

What a wonderfully creative mind you've raised, Mario. Cool story. Of course, with that myth there is always the possiblity that those that were selected to enter never wanted to leave. With that in mind, I would've thought the voice would be calling rather than warning. Nevertheless I really enjoyed the exploration.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Nicely done.
My wife likes to watch a series about humming rocks up in the hills that are portals through time..... and yes, conditions have to be right and other conditions met for them to hum.

Normally, I'm not a fan of sound effects in a song but this one just worked well.

I enjoyed the listen. I'll have to listen tonight on my headphones.

Edit: I had a chance to listen on cans. Panning is nice.
The footsteps sound more like static in the mix. I guess due to the crunchiness. It wasn't as obvious in the speakers as it is in the cans. It's almost like water but not water.

Hi, Mario.

Interesting idea, well done.

The ambient walking works well, but like Ray, I think it would be more effective to have kept the spoken bit much shorter.

Another excellent and dreamy sousndscape, Mario, but as I don't get a spooky vibe from it I agree with Marty: "I would've thought the voice would be calling rather than warning."
