Original tune - I fell in love with the chord sequence from Maddison Cunningham's "Something To Believe In" and tried to do my own instrumental, I play piano, rhodes, hammond, el/ac & ac slide guitars. The remaining backing is from BB 2024 Mac Style: 'Blind Slow Country Ballad' https://carlmogensen.bandcamp.com/track/55-believe-in-something-guitars-piano-hammondCarl

Hi Carl! I love the tapestry of all the fretted instruments you have created here, weaving in and out of each other’s space. Having introduced the progression early on, I was keenly awaiting key notes in each instrument’s phrasing. Then .. I found it so relaxing, I drifted off and my mind wandered and wondered - a good feeling. I had just come from listening to Janne’s latest piece about silence, so your piece was a very calming and pleasant time while I thought about how I can create less noise and busyness in my life. Well done - a great listen! Andrew

Carl, you are a master of many instruments and a very clever producer. Starting with just the chord progression via your guitar was brilliant. Everything about this song is perfect. A very peaceful instrumental. Loved it

Hi, Carl. Interesting - it's a bit like jazz, in that when I think the melody is going to zig, it zags instead. As Andrew said, there are points where the instruments all come together and interweave like a tapestry. Very cool!

Thanks Andrew - glad you found it relaxing, but didn't drop right off! to sleep! Pleased you enjoyed the listen, you're right the constant noise & frantic speed these days is not good for us - I have no doubt that calming music can contribute significantly to slowing down our crazy world, if people are willing to listen (& hear)!
Best, Carl

This took a lot of interesting turns, yet was still very ASMR. Great work! I listened to the original on yt, she is very good, I hope she gets more listens than she's currently getting. She did a tiny desk concert 3 years ago.

Carl,
Your work on this is inspirational. As I think you know, I really enjoy unusual chord patterns when they work. This works wonderfully.
Your excellent talent crosses many lines so smoothly. This has such an easy and tantalizing flow. Beautifully realized. You are so smooth.
Tip of the proverbial hat. What a great listen!
Alan

Truly relaxing music. As someone else said: great musicianship.

Thanks Rob - yes I had a bit of a head start with Madison's chord sequence, weaved together what I could out of it. Glad you found it interesting - and congrats to you & Beth for excellent team work on "So I Love You", you might like to view my comments on Beth's page: https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=861035#Post861035Great job both, Carl

Alan - thanks a lot for the 'tip of the hat', your own comments are inspirational to me. I did have a leg up with Madison's beautiful chords - just 'weaved' as best as I could after that. We musicians kinda lay our souls on display for all to see in our music - the great guitarist Adam Levy says 'play what you mean, mean what you play'! Musical notes are not enough, listeners will 'hear' our intent & feelings behind the notes (IMHO), as you well know - thanks a lot for your super comments Alan,
Carl

Loved how you developed the original sequence as the piece went on. That augmented chord (raised 5th) really creates a captivating motion. This project has a certain tonal quality that you managed to maintain even as you added instruments--that's masterful. I esp liked how you kept the elec guitar so nicely "quiet"--it behaved so well with the acoustic elements. Great work, enjoyed it all.

Hi Carl,
What a beautiful chord progression! Found myself closing my eyes and enjoying the lovely rocking feel. I even took a few deep sighs. That's always a great sign that the ol' vagus nerve is relaxing and moving into a nice rest/digest mode. What did I hear around 3:10??? Whatever it was, I believe you've done a great job on this!

Tom - really glad you enjoyed it, thanks a lot for your very nice and detailed comments! Wasn't sure how people would take to the augmented chord/s - but wouldn't have been the same vibe without it, so far no dislikes!
Cheers, Carl
