Hi All, Here's a simple little song called 21. I had an old blue car no Cadillac The sun in the morning at my back Driving east follow the railroad tracks Until I reach Montauk Point Little summer towns all dressed in pink A million places to stop and think Throw a stone catch it before it sinks Be back before the setting of the sun Seemed easy like breathing when I was 21 I dreamed of Berlin and Amsterdam Neon lights and a one way plan Passport pages in a shaky hand Standing in the line to board the plane The night came soft with a lullaby Backseat blanket and a blood-red sky A girl named Jean with the clearest eyes Said she’d wait but she cut and run That’s how it goes when your 21 Worked as a DJ in a bayside town AM/FM radio playing the sound Of Sinatra, Chapin, and some old Motown While kids played under the pier Played midnight songs for the drunks and losers Waited for dawn with the coffee boozers Wrote some lyrics about shakers and movers How they burned out just for fun It was a flash and a bang when I was 21 Now I pass these roads from time to time The sun gets tangled in the power lines I roll the window down shift to drive But the past just fades and comes undone Seemed easy like breathing when I was 21 BIAB Tracks: 1190: Bass, Electric, ModernRock 0869: Guitar, Electric, Rhythm RealDrums: AmericanaRoots16th Other Notes: Mic: MXL 990 Bob: 1970s Framus Acoustic Waves Vocal Rider Izotope Nectar 3 Elements for Vocals Izotope Plasma for Instrument Tracks Processing Track Mix & Master: Logic Pro & Izotope Ozone 11 As always - thanks for listening! So, so beautiful. Takes me back to when I was 21, myself ... and I'm sure it does that for anyone who listens to it. This is, as is usual to you, masterfully done. I can't help just listening, and giving up the urge to comment. What's the point of my comments, here? I'm just a novice, commenting on the works of a master. Nevertheless ... thank you for the trip back in time. I guess we all learn this kind of regret that your song depicts, later on in life. All of us, or at least most of us ... few are those with no regrets, right? Congratulations. Another top-notch song.

Those were the days! Another super sketch, Bob. Nice backing track, and your Framus sounds great. Your vocals sound very crisp and present. Nice arrangement and pacing, too. That was a quick five minutes!
Just noticed your MXL990 credit. I recorded hundreds of songs with one of those. Super vocal mic for not a lot of $. I chased around looking for a better mic and eventually settled on a pricey Neumann. But in retrospect, the problem was never the MXL990, it was my vocals. Should have kept that MXL and bought an old truck...

Bob, another masterpiece. Your vocals and lyrics always hit home with me. Your mixes sound professional regardless of your instrumentation. Everything about this yells pro. Loved it.
Back in my day the only time we started panic buying was when the bartender shouted "last call"!

Another great storytelling song. As I was listening the only word which came repeatedly to mind was Authentic. You are very definitely in an authentic class of your own! Just excellent material.
Some favourite Waoist Adages: #1: Play on the Way. #13: Ask not for whom the flower blooms, it blooms for you. #58: Bring consciousness to it. #63: On the road to effortlessness, effort must be made. #92: Be Love Now, the rest will come on its own.

Sounds great as per usual, Bob! Love the way you tell a story.
I remember Framus guitars from back in the day, cool that you have one.

It's always cool when Bohemian Bob nudges everyone over just a little.
"The night came soft with a lullaby Backseat blanket and a blood-red sky A girl named Jean with the clearest eyes Said she’d wait but she cut and run That’s how it goes when your 21"
Nice!
Band sounds good. Good mix.

Despite the factually incorrect lyrics (when driving east in the morning, the sun cannot be at your back, unless you are driving backwards ), I really like them, as well as the story you are telling. Memories... The drums sound almost like a muffled Bodhran and fit in very well with the rest of the band. And your singing style is just perfect for this song. One of your best!

Bob,
This is a very lyrical song that brings back nostalgia for youth. The lyrics match the music perfectly. The 1970s Framus Acoustic guitar is great. The electric guitar, bass, and percussion that accompany it are also wonderful. Your songwriting is fantastic, always achieving maximum effect with minimal combinations of instruments. As always, your vocals are so good. Enjoyed my listen a lot.
Best regards.

Man, you are the most relatable writer I ever heard, Bob. Seriously, when I listen to several in a row, I feel like I just watched a great B&W movie of 60s life in NYC. Always a great show for sure no matter the songs chosen. That's how it goes when you're that good. Visual lyrics and an engaging vocal are your trademarks.

Thanks so much.
That Framus is one of my oldest acoustics. It still plays great and has plenty of life left.
