Is there any way to control the volume slope of a fade out? My fade out over 2 bars is far to harsh, it makes the song barely audible after a couple of beats.

I assume you mean, within BIAB. I don't know; I do that sort of editing (trimming, fades, amount of lead-in time) in a stereo editor program.
Does anyone know if this is possible in BIAB, on the whole song and not just the audio editing tracks?

If it's audio, can you use volume automation and adjust the curve manually?

OK. I shall take this as a no I can do this in Cubase instead no problem Well, in fact it's not a 'no', it ca be performed in BIAB, but yes, it can also be performed in just about any DAW, as you have indicated.

All I can tell you is, I don't do it in BIAB and therefore do not know if it can be done. You asked a perfectly sensible question, and there might be some steps for a workaround.
I think we need somebody like Simon or Charlie Fogle to answer before concluding it cannot be done in BIAB.
By the way, I've been requesting support for my MIDI control surface for over twenty years, so I could use my automated faders like I do in other digital audio programs.

This node-based volume automation allows fine volume control of the Master track. This allows easy creation of fades, crescendos, mutes, etc. This is in addition to the individual track volume automation. Open the Audio Edit window (Ctrl-Shift+A), select the Master track, and press the volume automation mode button. This will show blue lines on the Master track. You can click anywhere on the blue line to add a node (a small blue dot), which acts as an anchor. If you add more nodes and then move some of them up or down, the blue line will be drawn between nodes that you’ve entered. Thanks, Trevor. I knew about this audio editing, but did not know if all tracks were affected, or just the audio track.

We can even add that it is possible on each track INDIVIDUALLY, in addition to the master track. Widely used in Biab demos with songs for a few years.

Another option: The Song Settings menu has a toggle for a fade ending of six bars and a box to enter the number of fadeout ending bars. I've never used it...

Z How are you entering a fade? Using the Bar Settings window, the Audio Edit window, or something else? This node-based volume automation allows fine volume control of the Master track. For anyone visiting this great thread I was using the song settings to control the fade out, it's not good. Audio tracks solution above is band on, and can be applied just like any sequencer window. The "volume automation mode button" must be pressed before editing is enabled on the Audio Edit window - this is found above the chord/notation/Audio area, it is a rectangle with black background and blue lines and nodes on it. Next to it is a track selector mich can eiterh select "master" (all instruments to fade or alter volume) or a particular instrument (as seen in the mixer).
Thank you people, I have not used the audio window, but it is just like any sequencer.
