I'm using BIAB 2020. I have a 16 bar repeat. The first chord of the repeated section is A minor. When it repeats, it just plays the A minor and ignores all the others (for instance, the cursor will move from the A minor chord to a G chord, but it continues playing the A minor chord and won't play the rest of the chords).
Does anyone have any idea why this is happening and how to fix it? I suppose I could not use repeats at all and just write the song out as a 101 bar song, but I'd rather not, and the repeats should work properly, should they not?
I have just had similar quirkiness, not identical though.
I would look here: Right click in the two chevrons >> next to "Big Piano" icon which shows a tiny keyboard. Select "Fake sheet mode". I think this is a kind of real book mode which presumably, economises on ink with repeats. There should be an unamed menu pop up. Uncheck " display chord sheet in fake sheet mode with first and second endings". When unchecked, the repeated bars, appear in grey, just where you would of had them if you wrote the repeats out. Here you might find your issue. I found anomolies on my repeat section that I had not entered.
Hi Matt, thank you for your reply. I'll answer your questions below.

I hoped this was the problem, since I did change the song form. But after hitting the Regenerate and Play button, it still got stuck on the first chord after the repeat.
2) did you freeze the tracks, then change the song? Unfreeze.
No, I didn't freeze anything in the mixer, but I checked it just in case. Nothing frozen.
3) (less likely) did you render the song to audio? Mute the audio track to check.
I didn't render the song to audio yet since I can't get BIAB to cooperate with the form.
Thank you for your suggestion. I did as you said, opened FakeSh. and uncheck the 'display chord sheet in fake sheet mode with first and second endings' and regenerated. No luck, still did the same thing. Very weird issue.

So I returned it to factory settings, but still have the same problem. However, I found something that *might* be part of the issue. I created a 5 bar intro to my song and then put the repeat starting at the beginning of bar 6, which is the color red. BUT I see there is still another repeat at the beginning of the song in black. I tried to delete it, but I can't (or I don't know how to). The reason this might be part of my issue is after I let the song cycle through the repeat a couple times, it jumped back to the black repeat at the beginning, which obviously I don't want to do. How do I get rid of that black repeat?
*sigh* well I gave in and just redid the song as one huge long song with no repeats. Not what I would've preferred, but I need to get this done and along with your helpful suggestions I've been troubleshooting it for several hours, all to no avail. I don't know why these simple repeats don't seem to be working, but I guess I just won't use them anymore.

Your conclusion is what has been recommended for the past two decades!
Yeah, it's a shame though. I would've thought a program that's been around for so long would've had something as basic as repeats ironed out a long time ago. Guess not.
My experience is that the repeats work fine. If you want me to have a look at your problem songfile to see if I can find the problem, I'm happy to do so. All you would need to do is to upload the file to a site such as Dropbox and then post a download link in this thread so that I can access the file.
Try this. Open your song as I described above. Then copy and paste the repeat sections from the colored part, to the grey part (the repeat that is wrongly Am ) then save. This should work. It's just general PG flakiness. Don't under estimate the product too much as what BIAB can do is fantastic, I just try to ignore the fancy featuresthat dont work, are programmed wonky etc.
