This song is about the insane amount of material that we're bombarded with in the electronic media. Not only that, but the sometimes absurd subject matter, narrative and quality that invades our lives these days, perhaps that's where the real war is!! So the title has this duality about it, in that some people are just mindlessly just churning out drivel to keep us placated (just putting it out there), whilst the singer is also just putting it out there.
I had intended making it with more of a pushed blues feel, but I couldn't find an acceptable style base BIAB version...a good reason to upgrade to one of the bigger packages. I've settled for the Fast Country Blues Swing style and it has come up okay considering I'm not a huge fan of country...and ultimately it doesnt't feel Country to me. So in my last song, the feedback I was getting was that the vocals weren't in the same room as the rest of the band. So I think I've addressed this, by having only one main vocal track....(quite brave of me!!) and reducing the amount of stereo effect, so unfortunately you've got my singing hitting you right between the eyes! To my ears, whilst the mix seems to sit well it seems a little bit heavy, dull and or bassy. If I listen to the mix without the vocals it all seems good, only upon adding the vocal does it seem to become heavy. I'd be glad to receive any thoughts if anyone feels the same or if it seems okay to you. I was really impressed with RealTracks style 421, it really adds some extra rhythm dynamics to the song. BEGG_B Style did have it's own acoustic rhythm guitar, but I substituted my own. I also did the solo, this is improvised around Triads on the e,B and G strings. A really simple 3 chord song, sometimes simple is best. So, I've only uploaded the audio to Soundcloud for now as the Youtube video is a bit naff. I struggling for enthusiam for videos, they take too long and they do distract ones attention from the audio.
Anyways, hope everyone's having a great weekend.

JUST PUTTING IT OUT THERE
INTRO
VERSE 1 They’re firing at UFOs over Yemen. ( Don’t think so.) Someone's sending messages into space (Ain't nothin' new) It’s the most terrifying time to be alive…mmm.. Putting it out there. Just putting it out there. I’m put…ting it out there.
VERSE 2 Duelling on the Whitehouse lawn at dawn. ( on Live feed.) Havoc on the senate floor, outlawing law. ( In God we trust ) “Men and Women are not the same”, evil speaks, it feels no shame…mmm.. Putting it out there. Just putting it out there. I’m put…ting it out there.
CHORUS …..just putting it out there, why should I care. …..just putting it out there, the latest nightmare.
SOLO over VERSE
VERSE 3 Could you love someone so much your heart did break? ( Yeah, me too.) Did you ever know a narcissist you couldn’t resist? ( Had no time for you.) Did they play you for a fool and treat you cruel? …mmm.. Putting it out there. Just putting it out there. I’m put…ting it out there.
CHORUS …..just putting it out there, why should I care. …..just putting it out there, the latest nightmare.
Cool song & performances. The mix seems to lean to the right . I'd be inclined to move the strummed guitar to the left to balance the busy one on the right.
Cheers rayc "What's so funny about peace, love & understanding?" - N.Lowe
Hi Lee! Good style choice - really bounces along. I'm not sure how far the Style is from what you were seeking, but your choice works very well. I didn't notice any lows on your main vocal. Have you tried listening to it in different environments? e.g. car stereo, Airbuds, monitors etc. If I think any of my vocals are too boomy, I try cutting anything below 80Hz, but honestly I wouldn't have commented if you hadn't said.
I love those vocal response BVs in the radio style - like someone is responding to you after you've put it out there. The 70s CB radio version of today's social media.
Lee, very cool song! Like the bouncy, relentless rhythm. Super vocals and guitar work, too. The sound isn't quite country, as you note, but to me it sounds like it COULD be a Grateful Dead song. Can be a lot of fun with BiaB to choose a style and then play against expectations for that style. Think you've done that smashingly here.

Another fun one! Yay! I don't have anything very original to add to the comments of others...just an affirmation on the Grateful Dead comment and the really cool radio-style response. I'm glad the cray-cray state of society is offering such rich grounds for creativity these days. At least that's something!
Lee, great vocal and subject matter, super lyrics. I agree with everyone that I found nothing wrong with the mix, it sounded great here. Just putting it out there A great song.
Dad, how will I know when I've become an adult.
When your day is ruined because they rearranged the grocery store.

"A really simple 3 chord song, sometimes simple is best" Three chords and the truth has often been said and this fits to a T.
Great lyrics! Your vocals sounds fine to us and are well arranged. Nice group of BiaB session guys also.
The mix sounded good on our monitors. We babbled on a bit in the PS about how we deal with your perceived mix issues.
Enjoyed it,
J&B
PS "To my ears, whilst the mix seems to sit well it seems a little bit heavy, dull and or bassy." Those issues (don’t hear much here) are tailor made for a mastering chain to reduce. FWIW If not interested in diving into mastering sometimes simply looking at the eq on tracks can tell you where they are stepping on each other. Then you can make changes to reduce boom, etc. Prolly stating the obvious so pardon!
Our albums and singles are on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, Pandora and more. If interested search on Janice Merritt. Thanks! Our Videos
I like this a lot! Sim-le, to the point, and well-presented.
I liked your clean vocal - sounded better than very good to my ears. I liked the kinda-sorta call and response. whatever they might be called, they worked great.
Thank you to everybody for taking time to listen and offering your critique....
Ray C; I've just had a play with the mix in Cakewalk and to refresh my memory where I'd put the various tracks. So the busy BIAB guitar was centre, the strummed guitar is two tracks panned L and R. I tried as suggested, muting the strummed guitar R and panning the BIAB to the R. I also had the guitar solo centre so I panned this R when the BIAB guitar goes silent in the solo. Listening to the two consecutively, I still favoured the fuller sound of the original, strummed guitar L & R, BIAB guitar C and Solo guitar C. Somehow the reworked version seemed a little duller to my ear, the second strumming track sems to lift the original. Thank you for the advice, it's good to get someone else's perspective.
Mr.Dee; Thanks for listening Andrew. Yeah, the style choice works really well even though it's not how I had envisioned it. I did want a slightly more hard bluesy edge to it. You're right about listening to it in different environments. I listen through the cans and desktop speakers (my modest setup doesn't extended to monitor speakers). Haven't tried earbuds yet and will get around to trying it on a stereo system. I've used the the radio style BVs before, so I'd better be careful not to over use them in future material, but as you say they are effective as to imply someone responding. Looking forward to the 15th buddy....will you be putting it out there?
DC Ron Thank you for your review. Yes that rhythm doesn't let up. I hear what you're saying about finding a BIAB style that one wouldn't normally choose and seeing what you come up with. Choosing a different style can make us look outside our normal styling constraints and in turn change our thinking on future projects.
BYOBand Yeah, a fun one lampooning the crazy times we live in. I could very easily get stuck writing songs that take the mickey all the while, so I need to make sure I write/produce some serious stuff. Thank you for listening.
RSDean Thank you for the review Bob. Yes, the vocals came out really well considering I always like to double up. As you say it all mixes well the RealTracks, a lot better than I had anticipated. Kind regards.
MarioD Thank you. The subject is out there in abundance, so it was difficult to find material. Glad the mix sounded good at your end, always useful to know how it sounds to the listener. Kind regards.
Janice & Bud Thank you for your listen and review, and kind comments on vocals and the mix. And thank you for the information on eq-ing. Will look into this and mastering on future endeavours. I will admit that my experience in mixing and mastering is in its infancy, so some of my material may miss the mark and would probably never make its way out of the sound studio!
AI-David Thank you for listening and reviewing. Yes, the radio effect is effective to convey a response. Glad you enjoyed it, kind regards.
TuneMonger Thank you for listening. I'm really pleased with how the vocals came out and worked together. I'm not over confident with my vocals, but this stands up well. Perhaps if I limit myself to 3 chord songs, it'll limit my vocal range! Kind regards.
That's a cool, funky knee-wobbler, Knee Wobbler. I like the line, "Havoc on the senate floor, outlawing law", plus the BV commentary is a great idea. Very good song and production.
Some favourite Waoist Adages: #1: Play on the Way. #13: Ask not for whom the flower blooms, it blooms for you. #58: Bring consciousness to it. #63: On the road to effortlessness, effort must be made. #92: Be Love Now, the rest will come on its own.
Thank Waoband Yeah, that style surprised me haw well it came out, and probably better than the blues feel I originally had in mind. I’m just wondering if it’s possible that I’m doing too many parody or social commentary songs, and whether that’s limiting myself. Probably.
Thank you for the listen. Yeah it is a fun number, but as I mentioned to Waoband I wonder if I’m limiting myself to parody or is it our role as songwriters to lampoon the ridiculousness out there.

Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!
Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.
Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.
And, if you are looking for more, the 2026 49-PAK (for $49) includes an impressive collection of 20 bonus RealTracks, featuring exciting and inspiring additions to add to your RealTracks library. You'll get new country-rhythm guitar styles from PG Music favorites Johnny Hiland and Brent Mason, along with modern-pop grooves that capture today’s radio-ready sound! There are also new indie-folk styles with guitar, bass, 6-string bass used as a high-chording instrument, acoustic guitar, and banjo. Plus, dedicated "cymbal fills" RealDrums provide an added layer that work very well with low-key folky styles with other percussion.
