My situation is this, for my BIAB upgrade to 2026, I will need to do the install on a different Windows machine than what I have been using. I have contacted Support to see if the BIAB Installer would automatically find any "Xtra" purchases I have made over the years, and install those too. Apparently, not.
So my Wish is, that the Installer can (using AI or otherwise), check my Products Page, find any extras to which I'm entitled, and load them at the same time as my upgrade.

A reasonable suggestion. If there's a central system that knows about everything the user has purchased, then an automated download and install would be ideal.

This would avoid having to save all the install EXE files for add-ons, and then run them. Very good suggestion.
+1
A further enhancement would be to recognize if the user had the audiophile version or not, and only send the appropriate file type.

I just went through that "nightmare" myself (Having to go through installing an update and trying to figure out what exactly needed to be installed and what could be skipped)
I have been onboard since realtracks was born, so I have multiple listings under "my products" and not all of them work with the install-manager. And even those that DO work with the manager don't all work at once (I have several "download links" entered and each one has its own tab instead of one single master-download list)
It's really a mess once you get to that level.
On the webpage (Where we log in and can see "my products") all the packs I've bought over the years are listed, so evidently PGmusic does have a way of combining all that info into 1.
If the install-manager could access that somehow, and compile ONE master-list of ALL content that needs to be downloaded and installed... that would be a huge improvement.
While we're at it; do you have to install the main-file for each BIAB year you have? (What I mean is; are there any realtracks included in that file, or are they all seperate. I always cancel the install of the main BIAB file for all the earlier years and only install the latest one, which of course results in the manager complaining "one or more files were not installed")
But yes, the install-management system is what I would put at priority number 1 for an overhaul.
Thank you. jacob.

Jacob, I have all of my RTs and RDs on a different HD/SSD than C/:. That way I can and have copies of them on off-line backup disks. For the C/: programs I am going to use a PC to PC program move software. YMMV

+1 to the idea of having the Download Manager automatically list, allow me to select for download and then select for install all the program and content files I've acquired in my PG MUSIC account.

If you have backup files of add-on paks dating back to 2009 when RealTracks were introduced, I wonder if a hard drive from that era would still be good? Probably, but not certainly.

Thanks Jacob, I dread having to go through that mess again. Was hoping they would make this Wish happen, even if it meant adding only 199 new RealTracks instead of 200! lol
I have another concern, I'll put it under the BIAB Forum, as it's not really a Wish, ... sort of.

FYI - I have one HD from the late 1990s that is still running. Although I have the same data backed up on other HDs I keep using that one to see how long it will last. I hope I didn't jinx myself.

Here is one for you computer pros. If one copies the entire BB folder to a new machine then installs over it the latest BiaB/RB programs, not the data, will the new install put in the registry stuff so BiaB/RB will work?

Mario, As far as I know, other than registering the PG Music fonts neither Band-in-a-Box nor RealBand have entries in the Windows registry. That is the main reason they are installed under the installation drive letter instead of under a Program Files folder. That's why you can use an external drive without having to install the program first.

That's why you can use an external drive without having to install the program first. I was curious about this a dozen years ago and searched the Registry. Besides what’s been mentioned, the only other entry was a list of the last ten songs loaded. I think a statement that BIAB doesn’t write to the Registry in the extensive sense that most other programs do, would still be accurate.

Jacob, I have all of my RTs and RDs on a different HD/SSD than C/:. That way I can and have copies of them on off-line backup disks. For the C/: programs I am going to use a PC to PC program move software. YMMV Yes, I also install BIAB on an external drive (It's too big for the C-drive ) Don't you have to install all the real-tracks when you update to a new version of BIAB? Can you simply point to the old folder and then BIAB will accept them? I went from Windows10 to Windows11 this year, and BIAB2026 is the first BIAB-install I have on Windows11, and so I went through and installed all the real-tracks (And all the various other addon-packs I have bought through the many years) again on the new machine (Because I figured it was necessary to do this so Windows would register everything correctly, but perhaps I could have just pointed the new BIAB2026 to the old realtracks-folder... that certainly would've saved me a days worth of installing haha ) Anyway, an automatic process, that could check-out everything one has bought over the time, would still be super-nice so one doesn't forget to install something or install the same content multiple times (For example, I bought BIAB2024 ultra-pack, but only BIAB2026 Pro, so now I have realtracks called realtracks and other realtracks called pro-tracks in the download-manager, and I'm not really sure if the pro-tracks are just some of the same real-tracks I already have from earlier versions of BIAB where they were called realtracks. So I downloaded and installed everything, but perhaps that meant a lot of gigabytes were really unnecessary to download and install. I really do find it confusing and really think the management-system is ready for an overhaul so there is just one single list of files on has and can download and install) Thanks Jacob, I dread having to go through that mess again. Was hoping they would make this Wish happen, even if it meant adding only 199 new RealTracks instead of 200! lol Yes, I actually went with the BIAB2026-pro version this time because I really don't need any more realtracks for now (I actually wish there were much more midi-content) And when I checked what was new in the 2026-ultrapack version it was clear that I would end up paying 100 dollars for a few new realtracks because I already had all the other things from when I got BIAB2024-ultrapack. I do love the realtracks (Mostly the real-drums actually), but, to be blunt, I'm not into country or jazz so I personally don't really need more of that (And, to my ears at least, the new realtracks sounded mostly like a repeat of what has already been made. I do feel like it's kind of stagnated a bit when it comes to innovation. A couple of versions ago they released a cello, which is awesome, and I do wish they would come up with more different things like that, instead of always centering around country and jazz. But that's of course subjective and really only relevant for my own music-needs so it's not meant as any kind of complaint )

Don't you have to install all the real-tracks when you update to a new version of BIAB?
Can you simply point to the old folder and then BIAB will accept them? There should be no need to (re-)install all the Real Tracks. Using the existing folder is exactly how I do it. BIAB will use existing Real Tracks and also the new ones that you copy to the same folder that Real Tracks are already installed in. Same for Real Drums.

Thank you I wish I had tried that before going through with the install-everything process when I got BIAB2026 haha. It might have saved me some time How does the download-manager know if something is installed? Simply by looking if it's present in the folder you specify for realtracks? Anyway, an update to the system, so we have one single list of files (A list that includes ALL the packs we have access to), would still be handy. Especially now that the eco-system has grown so large with so many different extra packs.

The Download Manager keeps a record of what's downloaded and what's installed, and also checks the PGM server to determine if a later download (update patch) is available. If so it gives you a message to that effect.

So back to my original Wish, if the DM can do all that, why can't it simply read down the list of my previous purchases, and download everything to which I'm entitled?
Dunno. All this electronic wizardry is a mystery unto itself! lol LLOYD S

Band-in-a-Box 2026 Video: AI Stems & Notes - split polyphonic audio into instruments and transcribe
This video demonstrates how to use the new AI-Notes feature together with the AI-Stems splitter, allowing you to select an audio file and have it separated into individual stems while transcribing each one to its own MIDI track. AI-Notes converts polyphonic audio—either full mixes or individual instruments—into MIDI that you can view in notation or play back instantly.
