Stupid Deal of the Day - IK Mutlimedia Total Studio 5 Production Suite - $69.99https://www.musiciansfriend.com/stupidWow! This is a great price and package for someone getting a good start with 3rd party VIs. The Alan Parsons Imperial Grand by itself is worth the price and there are five more pianos among the 88 VIs. I got into IK through a similar deal at GuitarCenter online years ago with a version of TS3.5. Once you're into IK, upgrades and add-ons are generally not that expensive. Here's a comparison of what is included in each version of Total Studio 5 https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/ts5/?p=versions#viewNormally, when these sales happen, it means a SampleTank upgrade is around the corner (as I found out 7 years ago). Dirty little secret: Unlike Kontakt/Kontakt Player, the SampleTank engine is free, similar to the UVI Player. When TS3 with ST3 no longer worked over Mojave, I downloaded the free ST4 CS and everything worked again.

This is a great introductory price for sure. I have an older version of Studio Max, and after comparing what would be new, I've decided to pass. But...a GREAT deal for someone else!

Mike, I'm often confused by these offers, though I've purchased through them FAR too many times. The Group Buy link states "Free products must be of equal or lesser value than the purchased item and selected from the software titles listed below", with none of the listed products priced at $29.99 or below. On the other hand, Amplitube 5 is listed on the free items list as $299.99, so if THAT is the "value" of the $29.99 Amplitube 5,then all the other freebies are eligible. Sigh. Will poke around some more...

Yeah, it was confusing to me as well, which always hints not to do it (where's the 'gotcha'?)
Also, there was no time/date limit, so does it just keep going until they hit 40k buyers? Or?
What if it magically gets stuck at 39,958 or something?
They just limit your choices? But when do they determine that?

There's a scoreboard on the linked page that currently shows 39857 participants = 46 free products, and 8 days remaining. With only 143 participants left to jump on in 8 days, seems like they're going to get to 49 free ones, but 46 free is a sure thing if it doesn't get there.
Based on my past participation, I THINK that participants are provided access to a page where they click on their selections from a menu.
I've got so much IK stuff that I don't even have downloaded, it seems silly to buy more. But...$29.99 is hard to pass up, isn't it???

The linked page also states that "non-upgrade versions of AmpliTube 5" are excluded, so not crystal clear that Mike's $29.99 suggestion actually qualifies. I could be wrong, and often am...

Ok, I think I've cracked the code...
The Group Buy has TWO variables.
First, the number of participants determines the number of free products. Currently at 46, may reach 49.
Second, the value of the free products available for each participant must be less than or equal to the value of the product purchased to qualify for the Group Buy. So if you buy a $99 product to qualify, you are only eligible for those free products valued at $99 and less. The values are on the linked page.
There's a FAQ link near the bottom of the linked page.
FWIW, the Cakewalk forum has a "Deals" forum with a lively topic on this Group Buy.
